Simple Delivery - Inpost v Evri - pricing makes no sense

So I've just received the latest e-mail "Updates to your delivery options" which informs us that In-post is now available and this in now 'giving you and your buyers more flexability and convenience'. HOW? Unless I can control which order goes where then no, it doesn't. AND - given that excluding Evri means prices go up to the higher Royal Mail only pricing band [ which most sellers wouldnt want to do] - neither sellers or buyers have any control of courier used thus no extra 'flexabilty or convenience' . Unless I'm missing something?

Its ebay, its not meant to make sense, its meant to make them money.

There are ways to get full control of your own postage options and prices.

If you are just selling a handul of bits and bobs out of your shed or loft etc, it's best to have a private account.

If you have bought in any of your items with the intention of selling on ebay, as per their terms and conditions, you should change to a business account. This will give you control over postage rates.

As you've already registered with a personal account, to upgrade to a business account, here's how:

Go to Account settings in My eBay.
Select Personal information.
Select Edit next to Account type. You may be asked to sign in again.
Select Confirm to upgrade to a Business account.
Specify whether you operate your business as a legal entity or as a sole proprietor and select Continue.
On the following page, enter your business information such as name, contact information, and returns policy. Then select Save.
Probably best to use a PC / laptop for this, and not the app or mobile browser.

To be fair inpost does offer more flexibility and convenience to the buyer as it’s a cheaper service that allows delivery to a collection point (ie another InPost locker)

this option sits separate to the to door service (which I f you keep all options will be either Evri or Royal Mail - at least for small low value items)
