New Evri SCAM

Good morning all,

just wanted to give you a heads up on the new evri scam.

After not receiving a package from evri for a while. I of course put in a not received to the seller - this was a while ago!

Last week I had a letter from royal mail to say i owed them £7.00 postage - strange as all my items have been delivered - or not and cases issued.

So this morning I go to the post office - paid the £7.00 charge to find out what I have not ordered or not received.

It was a package from evri - see the photo below.

So i ask the question - how did royal mail get this package as it is an evri package.

The advisor stated the following!

If they cannot find your address they put them in the post box - then we have to send charge letters to the customer - we have hundreds of these a day - evri just cannot be bothered to deliver the items so post in the post box and we have to deal with the angry customers!

How bad is that - this needs looking into urgently by ebay and evri - if they want to contact me please do so - as i wont be stopping at just this simple message

In all honesty I doubt that is what actually happened. It is more likely that the item was dropped off at a Post Office by the seller (many Post Offices do accept Evri parcels now aswell) but was inadvertently placed in the wrong sack (Royal Mail instead of Evri) by the Post Office staff member.

I’d imagine that is extremely rare. The Evri courier would be on the hook for scanning a parcel in and then it vanishing, they may as well take it back to the depot.

I think what is happening here more often is Collect+ locations are making errors. I take my Evri and RM parcels to various ones and some of these shops / petrol stations don’t have the best processes. Sometimes if they have a new member of staff I can tell they dot really know what to do and where things need to be put.

Yesterday I took an Evri parcel to a petrol station, the guy didn’t scan it properly because he was distracted and left it on the counter right above where their RM sack is. I rang them later and told them my tracking wasn’t updating so they scanned it whilst I was on the phone and sorted it out. That one could have easily gone in with the RM parcels in error as their system is scatty.

After speaking to the seller it was at an evri shop - not post office shop

If it was lost then it was probably whoever found it that put it in the postbox.
