I agree that perhaps the items should be posted back on the boards and sold under a special charity auction. I also agree that the monies should be split between charities, there are so many of them out there and so many people (and animals) need help too. However there are also so many smaller local charities that dont get the type of help that some of the more major and more known places do. So perhaps we nominate a local charity each and even if ebay just gave fifty pounds to each then it would help boost a lot of small local charities funds. I myself help to raise funds for an animal rescue centre in Gores End, nr Ramsgate, Kent. It is run by one lady and her daughter. They work tirelessly to feed and look after the animals with small donations and are at present raising money to build a hospital for the injured animals that they receive. They do eater egg hunts, halloween parties, chrostmas wonderland etc etc. It is only a small place but they put so much time and effort into it I think they deserve some extra help too. Then there are numerous small cat and dog rescues, childrens charities and help for the less fortunate. Even a small donation is worth its weight in gold to these people running these organisations.
My charity would be - Marsh Farm Animal and Pet Rescue Centre, Gore End, Monkton, nr Ramsgate, Kent.
If any one would like to visit they are open every weekend and have tea rooms, fairy tale garden walk, fishing, farmyard and pets corner as well as many animals wanting new homes.;-)

Definately a childrens charity - but any of the items which are aimed at adults ie: coffee machines should be auctioned off and the money should be spent on toys or medical equipment or something else for kids. I think people will generally be pleased with any childrens charity.

Hi everyone
Would like to start by wishing everyone a happy christmas.
Being an Aunty to a terminally ill quadriplegic teenager, i know how important respite care is, not just for the carer, but also the child.
All parents will understand how tiring it can be, with a newborn baby, totally dependent on you for it's every need. The first few months being the hardest. Now imagine that scenario seven days a week for the next thirteen years and in my nephews case hopefully longer.
I would like to nominate the Butterwich Hospice in Stockton, Teeside, who provide much needed respite, and have been a great help, to my sister and her family over the years.
