Hello and goodbye

I am all for tradition, so I thought I would go back a few years and do a flouncy goodbye thread... lol

I am sad to see that all the fun seems to have been bleached out of the boards. Yes, there used to be some nastiness in here, and it's a shame that what we called 'The Pinks' didn't do something about it when asked back then. Maybe if they had things wouldn't have got out of hand and they wouldn't have felt the need to clamp down quite so hard now. What is left here is a shadow of what FHG used to be.

We had fun debates, competitions, slanging matches and friendship threads. We were a community that pulled together when one of our own had problems, and helped anywhere we could. We supported people who had no-one else to turn too. I suppose you still do that now, but without the fun/fantasy interspersing the real life stuff I can see it getting quite depressing in here sometimes.

Ah well, here goes...

I can't take it any more - I'm leaving... *holds hand over forehead and goes to leave* *walks straight into doorpost because hand is half covering eyes* Ouch!!!! That's it, I'm so angry and humiliated now... *flounces out of the door*

Pity you didn't stay long enough to contribute to making it fun instead of just criticising the good efforts others have made!.

The reason no-one stayed is because each and every one of them got warning emails ????? Obviously someone doesnt want the oldies back, dont you think ?

That's a real shame! I for one would like to meet the oldies & have fun, I'm a comparative newbie & on more than one occasion had a post removed so I can see where your coming from, however as to the emails , that's a nasty form of intimidation & they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it!. I'm afraid you will always get those who are jealous of others popularity but I think those who come in with a new ID on the day they want to insult & cause friction are being sorted, I do hope so, this is a nice board & they want to keep it that way. Quite rightly!!.

I too am a relative newbie and love coming on here I think if you want controversy then go to facebook, I come on here to talk to friends ask opinions have a natter and a moan, the Round table can be controversial a lot of the time. I don't recognise the names so I don't think you have been on here for a while.

I believe they are called Trolls Ed, we've all had them at some point, they lead such sad lives that they can't bear anyone having fun or answering a poster they have a grudge against then there are others who think that we are not adults & any sign of a bit of harmless cheeky ness is a victim of the button pusher!.some can't take criticism & bear grudges ,

I don't think they meant harm at all. They came here because they'd heard how restricted it's become now, so they only came for a bit of fun and proved a point as they all got kicked off and the thread was pulled.

I think they proved their point very well.

me too Ed i went off for a read

ive been round the boards since the ebay treasure hunt , these new mods seem to mod in a strange way, sounds like some of the oldies were seeing how far they could go

there isnt really any 'fun' as such here, that quiz thread from the other week was the most ive seen for ages.

im sure that if i said Mooncup there will be several titters and grins among anyone who was around at that time

I haven't noticed it to be depressing, and I thought we did a good job of supporting others when they needed us, wow this board must have been something else in the good old days. Anyway off now, wouldn't want to court controversy.
