I could cook some of it, but have no way of storing it. It's all well defrosted, so it's not going to keep, especially the fish.

sausage and bacon for breakfast, fish for lunch and meat for dinner for the next two days at least, should make a small dent in it. Have you not got s friend or neighbour with a little space in their freezer to spare. You can freeze anything once it's been cooked.

I bought a zanussi fridge freezer a couple of months ago, its 70% fridge 30% freezer ....... I didn't actually buy it because of the make but I'm very happy with it, infact I really only went to buy a fridge as like you ours ours packed up without warning, I wanted a bigger than average fridge as what we had got matched our freezer but choice was limited, the one we got really was because it was the right price & the clinching deal was that it was available for next day delivery, its 6ft tall so I can only just reach the top shelf

Sounds like it could be the thermostat that has gone on your old fridge/freezer.

If it is less than 5 years old could be worth getting an engineer in as a replacement thermostat would cost less than £50.00 fitted.

Otherwise we use Hotpoint and have had no problems so far (touchwood) although Samsung and LG are getting very good reviews and if we ever had to change ours we would go for a Samsung now.

Look at ordering through either TopCashback or Quidco so you can get some money back - every little helps!

I think my old fridge-freezer will be packing up soon, so I'm looking out for a new one (but not 6 foot - I'd need a stepladder!). My biggest problem is that I really, really, really hate glass shelves, and I can't find anything without them.
