hi creeky, that i would say only camoron and co will know the true expense it took to get rid of that person. as i have said why should I pay a penny towards such a flamboyant tory show piece.

I see no reason why anyone should have been made to pay for Maggie Thatcher's funeral.

Of course it can be argued that we didn't and it was paid by using just a tiny fraction of the billions this, and the previous Labour government have borrowed each year with little or no hope of ever being able to repay it.

£100 million or £3 million - akin to someone who owes thousands borrowing an extra few pence X-(

To me Maggie has been the best P.M.

I cant remember the names of those that came after her except IDS but my memory is dreadful.

I personally think Maggie did a great job and ket the unions under control.

Now I have said that I'm leaving for the night so goodnight everybody.

Only 49 more states to go! Hooray for Florida !

I-95 and I-75 will be jammed for the next month or so with druggies and deadbeats heading North out of Florida , because this is the first state in the union to require drug testing to receive welfare!

Hooray for Florida ! In signing the new law, Republican Gov. Rick Scott said, "If Floridians want welfare, they better make sure they are drug-free."

Applicants must pay for the drug test, but are reimbursed if they test drug-free. Applicants who test positive for illicit substances, won't be eligible for the funds for a year, or until they undergo treatment. Those who fail a second time will be banned from receiving funds for three years!

Naturally, a few people are crying this is unconstitutional.
How is this unconstitutional? It's a legal requirement that every person applying for a job has to pass drug tests in order to get the job, why not those who receive welfare?

Let's get welfare back to the ones who need it, not to those who won't get a job.

Old news from over a year ago but even so if there were enough places available on drug rehabilitation schemes then something I'd personally support over here.

You would have to have the support structure in place first though.

I can understand welfare reforms are needed,but here we go again with finger pointing ..but if to work you have to pass a test then its only fair welfare users should too.

But if we did have such a scheme Spawn as well as drug testing prior to employment AND the support structure to support drug users then I could see something good coming out of it.

It wouldn't be a matter of economics for me but rather a way of getting a robust drug rehabilitation system under way. Support for drug users at the moment is woeful.

Yes ,that is the only angle I would use ,no support in place then it's just another political attack rather than a genuine attempt to solve an issue that needs addressing.
