Watching a BIN?

Why are 11 people watching a BIN?

Are they watching to see if it sells or are they watching, hoping it doesn't sell so they can make a low offer?

What's the idea?

Could be they are interested but still shopping for a better deal

Dont need the item now, but may do in the future
Want the item , but can;t afford it till their next wage
Got a similar item to sell and want to see if you get the price you have the BIN at
Enjoy winding up the seller by watching it

Another BIN has 30 watchers.

The one with 11 isn't a common item to be seen for sale so people having one they might want to sell isn't the answer.

Might need one in the future? Not this item.

Next wage? If they can't afford it now, they never will, it's £800.

Wind the seller up, now that's a possibility but what for?

Depends on the item - I quite often 'watch' BINs

If I'm looking for something offered by various sellers I will put them on a 'watch list' before deciding who to buy from.

Especially if the same or similar item is available as an auction item. If I don't win the auction I can go back to my list and do a BIN.

I watch items that are a regular seller if I think I will want them in the future.

I expect there could be several reasons.

I would think the most common reasons are if someone is not sure if they want to buy it or not but if it's on their watch list they will be able to find it easily again, and also for price comparisons of common items.

I will also put small (inexpensive lightweight) BIN items from a seller who also has auction items that I'm bidding on. If it is still there at the end of my auction bidding I might buy it, but that might depend on whether it can be added to basket to include with postage discount, or whether you have to pay immediately with separate postage.

I have one item still on my watch list that I have already bought - a small car part which turned out to be faulty, or at least did not do what it was supposed to do on the vehicle model/year it was stipulated for. I had a long delay with other vehicle problems before it was fitted so it was far too late to get a refund, and the garage ordered me another one. I kept it there to remind me to let the seller know in case his other identical parts have a similar problem for that vehicle model. I am reminded every time it comes round, but I haven't got round to it so I may as well delete it. And there are probably another couple of items permanently on sale that I haven't got around to deleting.

I can't see the point of anyone watching items to 'wind up' a seller, or why a seller would be particularly wound up by it.

For someone that doesn't know why people are doing it, you seem very certain why reasons are wrong!

Want the item but think it's over-priced. Waiting for the seller to realise this ( clue : 11 are watching but none of them have bought it).
