I need a bath!!!!!!

I'm begining to get a bit desperate I haven't had a bath for about 2 1/2 years.

anyone got any ideas please.

I have been searching for something I could use that is portable to put in my wet room so I could have a bath rather than showers.

My hubby needs the wet room so we cannot really change it but I miss my bath.

I have looked at all kinds of ideas, the things on offer are either too big, too flimsy or come from China. None have been suitable to purchase.

I found a portable plastic deep saoking bath but the website it is on doesn't seem to be valid or useable now and the item is from singapore anyway.

If I could buy something in this country it would be great.

I have though founnd this, its a plasterers mixing tub which is plasitc.

What I would like to know if there is anyone who knows what they are like. Would it be possible to put a drainage whole in it some how and if so how? and are these things very hearvy. it is just the right size to fit in the shower part of my wet room.

Any help would be most appreciated.

google 'adult portable bathtub' and choose images, there are loads to choose from

I like the ones that pump up like paddling pools!

Glyn, thank you, I have had offers but it isn't quite the same as your own. Close neighbours though all have wet rooms. xx

Archie, I would love a hot tub, funds won't stretch to one of those, be great in this snow to have one in the garden wouldn't it xx

Pixie thank you for the link, they won't post just the one xx but will keep that in mind.

What's it like using one of those tin baths are they very big? I'd be able to fit the middle sized on in my space. xx

CeeDee is all heart, if you want a galvanised bath think how you will fill it and which fire you would put it in front of? The upside is you can park it up against a wall or even plant it up for the summer!

you can get them made to measure,

when I was small the bath hang on a peg outside the kitchen door,

then on bath night it was brought inside and placed in front of the large open fire in the sitting room,

and the big copper boiler that was used for washing clothes was heated and we carried jugs of hot water from the scullery to fill the bath,

the smallest cleanest children went through first then the larger dirtier ones!

the bath was then emptied using jugs etc. and refilled for the adults to take their turn,

sounds rather Dickensian doesn't it, but this was in the sixties!

Archie, not looking to put it infront of a fire, we don't have one anyway, I'll put it in the shower space so can fill it with the shower or hose from the sink. it is just the emptying I'm more bothered about.

Pixie, sounds like fun in those days. I have always been fortunate enough up to now to have lovely bathroom suits and hot running water. xx

Some of us have had it so easy lol xx

Suggest search for Medical Bathtubs ... portable versions were used in Hospitals and Nursing Homes ... could still be available ?.

You could get a blowup one if you haven't looked at them yet. Light and not expensive.

Hi harry, I've tried a blow up, actually bought one specially for when we moved, it was just too big xx. Think I'm gonna get a tin one like cd and pixie posted xx unless someone comes up with a plastic one I can buy in this country xxx
