Hmm Not Had Any Emails For A While Now

When I Checked It Ask Me To Sign In Which I Did Several Times, It Turns Out That Microsoft Outlook

Has Retired

Anyone Got Any recommenations For A New One Bearing In Mind I Never Done An Email Thingy Before.

we wend to windows live mail when outlook finished and have had no problems with it,

I also have a yahoo one for ebay again no problems

Outlook has retired ??? I'm still getting emails - 3 yesterday and 2 today.

Try Thunderbird - Free Email Manager - a Free Alternative for Microsoft Outlook.

Can be a little difficult to configure - A man of your calibrrr, no sweat

A few youtubes should help!

@ petal: I had to change my email host when my Freeserve service was closed down by EE/BT. I opened an account with Mail.com, which I find excellent. You can have up to ten diffferent email identities on one free @mail.com account. Mail.com also has a lot of different domain names which you can use instead of mail.com, if that is useful to you e.g. @doctor.com, @teacher.com, @post.com etc. Note that it is a webmail service only i.e. you cannot use an email program like Thunderbird to collect emails remotely - you have to log in to the mail.com website to collect your emails. This suits me, because it means I can easily access my emails from any computer anywhere.

I use Thunderbird on my PC as my email client

I also use the online mail service - www.mail.com - you can get endless mail address to use on there

@Before the @ yes as long as the name isn't already being used,. You can add numbers after it if you definitely ant a specific name.

@After the @ it has to be the name for whatever your service provider uses xx

@ Petal: Busty's comments are correct. A tip to try if your chosen name (before the @) has been taken: try it with a .net or .fin or .org or .post etc. after the name you want - chances are it will be available. For example, if petal@mail.com is not available, try petal.net@mail.com. I have used this work around to get a couple of address names I wanted - it looks neater and more "professional" than just putting numbers after a name.

When you go into settings - you can find a lot more than mail.com

go into settings --> Alias addresses --> create alias

Think theres about 100 variants you can pick to place after the @ - after you've set up your original addy - (engineer.com - contractor.com - auctioneer.net -- just a few examples)

But @mail.com is useful, as every site I've visited accepts it - not all sites accept @Yahoo or @Hotmail etc - as a 'real' email address

Sadly i'v managed to go wrong,

i went with mail.com filled it all in and was excepted and they sent a email for me to confirm

so i went to my envelope and clicked it and got my old email thing which is retired

wheres the envelope for mail.com please

If so I think you just have to go into your envelope and with your new email address you have just set up you add it as an account xxx
