Interesting article Joe - have to admit though that I have never come across anyone that fits the description of those she is referring to.

Strange that she didn't mention something that does seem to support her thesis that there is a growing problem - that of abortion. It seems to be generally accepted by many, both within the medical professions and the general population, that it is perfectly reasonable to abort foetuses that show signs of a disability.

A very strong and thought provoking artice from Psychology Today written by Deborah Schurman-Kauflin, Ph.D.,

about some sections of societies views on the disabled

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/disturbed/201206/killing-the-disabled

"I know in this environment there will be many who don’t like this article. Psychopaths are abundant, and darkness always hides from light. People don’t like having mirrors held up to them because when that happens, they have to look at the ugliness staring back at them. And I am not talking about their physical appearances. If you are a psychopath, you may be able to fool some of the people some of the time. But you sure as anything are not fooling me".

American sensasionalising tosh, what else would you expect from a Practicing psychic medium.

Mind you there is a alcholic near us, gets pretty much everything paid for including an alcohol allowance ontop of his benefits, and gets about 3.5k a year to spend on himself for clothes, hes always kitted out in the best designer gear, quite young as well.

I dont think there are many who would begrudge genuinly disabled people as the article suggests, but there definately some more deserving than others, and there are those that just abuse the system..

Nope carer takes him shopping, if he doesnt use his allowance in a certain time he loses it. An ex employee is dating his sister, but basically there are about 10 of the same family all on benefits, they spend most of there time drinking. She is on disability as well for another reason.
