Yes ..but some parts of Spain are colder than the UK..

i can see the arguement for cancelling the fuel allowance but i feel the pension should be the same wherever they live it is there money they (mostly)worked and put into it

The idea that NI payments are a contribution towards a future pension is no more tenable than suggesting that what used to be called "Road Tax", (now Vehicle Excise Duty), is a contribution towards the cost of providing roads.

Pensions are simply a benefit payment like any other and as such are made at the whim of the government in power, at the rate they decide and to those they deem qualify for the benefit.

Where does it say that the monies you pay as NI are a contribution towards your pension - the level of entitlement isn't even fixed but can be changed at any time, and has been, by the government in power.

Even the website you quote from is describing the State Pension as a "benefit"

Well I can see the one side of the argument that says the State Pension is just a benefit like any other but not much to say that it is not just an entitlement but something paid for which implies ownership of the funds.

Agreed - what you'd get is a different benefit - doesn't mean to say that the State Pension isn't a benefit though.

When we do retire we are not even allowed to go abroad to enjoy ourselves now!!!!. Makes me mad. They cannot even respect people who have worked hard a lifelong through.!!!!!!!!!!!!. Give us a break.

Very odd that no newspapers or TV have picked it up, and no one else seems to have heard about it.

What's the reasoning behind it? If foreign nationals can get a full pension if they return to their country of origin after working here for 30 odd years, quite rightly, why shouldn't UK ex-pats be able to get the same. A reduced pension is not the same as stopping their winter fuel allowance.

I think you have either misheard, misunderstood or are making it up. From the way you are expressing yourself you obviously have an ax to grind.
