Just under 500 passengers, I wonder how many refund requests they get.

No point asking for their tickets. To get out of the station, you put your ticket in the barrier machine, and if end of your journey, it swallows it.

The barriers are always manned at Paddington, so not a problem.

FGW have apologised, acknowledged that it was unacceptable and offered a full refund to all passengers who

send in their details. Most tickets for a journey of that length at this time of year would, I guess, be booked in

advance so details will be traceable. What more can the company do? I mean they'd be complaining if the

train didn't have a safety braking system and carried on with no brakes! It's a mechanical thing, they break

down occasionally. We've always found FGW customer service and attitude to be one of the best.

Yep, it happens sometimes,trains break down. I travel on FGW a lot and they are generally pretty good. They are brilliant in bad weather letting you get on any train, not just the booked one, and they were very good when the floods took out the line just west of Exeter, lots of free tea and coffee and an efficient bus service from Newton Abbott, it tgook longer, but they got you home. Sunday train travel in the UK is always a bit of a nightmare.

I have been stuck on the M5 in summer for hours after an accident, no one came round with water or put up porta loos.

Did anyone see the very well dressed Old lady, just off the train, being interviewed, She didn't hold back with the language or description of the toilets, Her Grandson(?) was cringing
