Introducing EU Credit Notes for Seller Fees and Tax Reversals

To improve clarity and transparency, from October 31, 2025, eBay will begin issuing separate credit notes for all seller fee, charge, and tax reversals in the EU. Each credit note will clearly show any credited amounts as well as references to the original invoice.   What is a Credit Note? A credit note is a tax document that reduces or cancels all or part of a current or previous invoice. It confirms that a certain amount — such as a reversed fee, overcharge, or refund — has been credited back to your account. Just like your tax invoice, an eBay credit note is an official accounting and tax document. You should retain it for your accounting records and treat it as a separate document that complements the original invoice. Together, your invoice and credit note provide a complete record of your transactions — making VAT reconciliation and recordkeeping easier.   Why This Change? This update: Improves transparency and makes it easier to match charges with reversals, Aligns eBay’s invoicing process with market best practices. Our goal is to make billing clearer, more transparent, and easier for sellers to manage.   How to Access Your Credit Notes Starting November 1, 2025, credit notes will be available in the same location as your tax invoices — provided as: A PDF summary (for a quick overview), A CSV file (for detailed transaction-level information. You can download them from Seller Hub or My eBay: Go to the Payments tab in Seller Hub (or Payments in My eBay), Select Reports, Open the Tax Invoices tab, You’ll see a list of available credit notes alongside your monthly tax invoices, To download, select Summary Download or Details Download. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact our Customer Support.

How to sell for a sustainable future

Part of eBay’s DNA, the circularity movement - or the practice of encouraging reusing, recycling, or sustainability in consumption and manufacturing - has been rising on shopper’s agendas in recent years.    According to the Deloitte Retail Trends 2022 this year it’s set to soar, as the second-hand clothing sector is on track to grow quicker than the fast fashion industry. Indeed, in the UK at eBay we’ve seen searches for ‘pre-loved clothes’ rise by 890% over the last year*, and our 2022 Recommerce Report also found that almost half (42%) of our eBay.co.uk buyers said sustainability was their main concern when choosing not to purchase new items**.   How can sellers meet this rising demand to go beyond paying lip service to sustainability, and begin to implement sustainable practices within their businesses? Here are some tips to consider as a starter for ten when looking to be more sustainable with your selling.   Make the most of your imperfect stock   Gone are the days when consumers were only willing to part with their pennies for the newest, freshest items - we’ve now entered an era where demand for refurbished or even imperfect items is growing. A refurbished item is sold every ten seconds on eBay.co.uk, and two preloved items were rehomed every ten seconds last year***.   To encourage participation in the circular economy, sellers have the option to list on eBay any damaged or imperfect stock as ‘new with defects’. This means sellers aren’t forced to send any item that doesn’t make the cut to landfill - instead, they can sell them on and continue to make profit whilst knowing they’re being more sustainable in their practices.          Consider your postage and packaging choices The day-to-day running of businesses can often contain many unsustainable practices hiding in plain sight - from the non-recyclable things used to package and send products, to the paper used to print labels. One of the easiest ways business owners can improve their sustainability credentials is by not using these products which harm the planet in the first place.   Switching single-use plastic packaging for sustainable alternatives made from recycled materials, for example, is one way small businesses can do their bit. You can also use recycled paper for label printing, or turn single-use into no-use by keeping printing for business admin to a minimum to begin with.   When packing your item, remember to choose a package appropriate for your item’s size, excessive sized boxes cause additional waste.   Lastly, make sure you offer greener options for delivery. Some carriers offer hybrid or electric vehicles - or for those in close proximity, bicycles.          Calculate your carbon footprint Understanding your business’ carbon footprint and taking actionable steps to reduce it is swiftly becoming a necessity for any and all business owners. Whilst it may seem like a daunting prospect to begin with, tracking the footprint of your business through carbon accounting has never been easier.    For example, organisations like Carbon Trust have an online Carbon Footprint Calculator which can take carbon management out of your hands by showing you what emissions your business is producing, as well as encouraging you to think about the way this can be reduced.         Reduce returns Returns mean additional carbon use, so to minimise returns where possible, make sure to include as much detail about the product as possible. By using extremely detailed product descriptions, including multiple photos from all angles and including photos of any defects - there is a higher chance a buyer will be satisfied with their purchase and not return the item. Click here for more information on making a great listing.       Think product lifecycle To assess how sustainable your products are, make sure you investigate your product’s full lifecycle. Ask your suppliers where their materials are sourced, how the items are made, how much energy is consumed and what sources of energy they use. The more knowledge about this the better, as this will help you make sustainable choices going forwards.   Lastly, make sure you give as much information to how the life of your products can be prolonged. By educating customers on how to care for, clean, re-use or recycle your products and packaging will help reduce over-consumption.       If you’re feeling inspired and want to find out how to make your business more sustainable, check out our People & Planet Hub and eBay Academy for more help and advice. What steps have you taken to green-up your business? Comment your thoughts and tips below!   * From 1 Jan - 27 March 2022 vs same dates in 2021 ** Data gathered 7 - 19 Oct 2021, from eBay’s Recommerce report *** all items are refurbished and sold within eBay.co.ukbetween 1 Jan- 31 Dec 2021

Shooting for the stars: how Capital for eBay Business Sellers helped this meteorite business soar

Supporting our small businesses means everything to us here at eBay, and our Capital for eBay Business Sellers programme, in partnership with YouLend, is an example of the help we’re committed to providing.    Our previous article looks at how this service can help sellers transform their businesses, and here we want to share the story of one small business that has done just that. We spoke to Martin Goff - owner of Msg-Meteorites - about how his passion for meteorites has become his business, and how he’s used funding to make his business really take off.   Meet Martin, owner of Msg-Meteorites   Martin has always been fascinated by all things science and astronomy, and has been collecting fossils since he was a child. One day when buying fossils he came across a meteorite - which is a fragment of material from space - for sale, and a newfound obsession was born. Fast forward to 2015, and Martin launched his small business, Msg-Meteorites.      Msg-Meteorites sells genuine meteorites that Martin slices and prepares himself, and the business has grown from his passion project to a fully functioning online business. Martin sells his products both through eBay’s global platform and directly through his own website.     Martin’s business needs have changed in line with Msg-Meteorites’ growth, and Capital for eBay Business Sellers , delivered by YouLend, has been key in supporting this journey.    Martin’s small business journey so far   When Martin’s fascination with meteorites began, he joined a society and started attending outreach shows and science and astronomy fairs - where the society members put on displays of their meteorite collections to attendees. Audiences would always ask where they could buy meteorites of their own, and it gave Martin the idea to turn his passion into a business.      Martin started his selling journey on eBay, and then developed his own website and shop once business began to ramp up. Today, he sells through both avenues.   Using Capital for eBay Business Sellers to supercharge business    After successfully selling his meteorites for years, and as his customer base continued to expand, Martin decided he wanted to take his business to the next level. So, when eBay got in touch about business finance offered through its partner, YouLend, Martin realised that making the most of this would provide him with the perfect opportunity to grow his business.            Martin uses the funding for a number of reasons including buying stock and purchasing key equipment for his workshop, where he preps the meteorites that he sells.    Due to meteorites being natural products of limited numbers, the supply side of business can be tricky, meaning Martin has to purchase new samples as and when they become available to avoid missing out. The financing provides Martin with the funds to buy meteorites at very short notice, and so is a big help in keeping him well stocked. More stock means a bigger shop, and a bigger shop means more customers - and so the funding has been critical to Msg-Meteorites’ impressive growth.      The financing is paid back in line with sales volumes, allowing Martin to make the most of the opportunities the funding has unlocked without having to worry about repayment when his business experiences natural peaks and troughs in sales.     The future of Msg-Meteorites    Martin runs Msg-Meteorites alongside his full-time career as a crime scene investigator. Although running an independent business while having a demanding full time job is hard work, Martin finds it very rewarding - especially as the business has grown.      Msg- Meteorites provides a great example of a passion project that has evolved into a viable business. Now that the shop is achieving such success, Martin is eve n planning to make this his full-time work in the future.      When Martin makes the move to running the shop as his full-time job, he plans to take on more financing to take his business to the next level. He’s also planning to invest more into the marketing side of the business for both his eBay shop and independent website, and attend more outreach shows in order to further grow his customer base.   Msg-Meteorites is a story of a small business that has really taken off, and we are delighted that our Capital for eBay Business Sellers programme has helped this to happen.   Are you thinking about taking your small business to the next level? How eBay sellers can capitalise on the UK’s biggest cultural moments

From the hottest cinema and TV releases to the most exciting sports events, the biggest cultural moments in our calendar year have the power to captivate the nation, and inspire them to shop.   And while shopper behaviours are constantly evolving, our insights into our millions of eBay shoppers give us a front-row seat to see for ourselves what impact these cultural and on screen sensations have on shopping trends – and help our sellers make culture shoppable.    Take Regency-era blockbuster Bridgerton whose second season is hitting screens on 25th March. When it first aired at the end of 2020, no one could have predicted quite how gargantuan its cultural impact would be. Just one month after the eight episodes dropped, data from eBay UK revealed that Bridgerton had already prompted people’s fashion, hobbies and home decor purchases, with searches of ‘seen on screen’ items, such as wisteria plants (300%), afternoon tea sets (42%) and corsets (39%) spiking on ebay.co.uk.    Since then, the hit show has continued to capture the imaginations of audiences worldwide and the ‘Bridgerton Effect’ has persisted. For example, our most recent data has shown that in February 2022 searches for ‘Bridgerton outfit’, ‘ascot dress’ and ‘faux wisteria’, rose 750%, 316% and 143% respectively on eBay compared to the same time last year.    And there are plenty more significant cultural moments taking place this year that will captivate the nation and influence consumers’ shopping habits, with the latest film in the wizarding franchise hitting cinemas in April and major sporting events happening this year.    With this in mind, here are our top three pieces of advice to help you capitalise on the culture craze in the year ahead…   Plan well in advance   Whether it’s sports matches, film releases or shows, every year is peppered with occasions that have become retail events in their own right. To ensure you’re in the strongest position to cater to fans when they’re inspired to shop, you need to plan ahead – starting by mapping key dates into your campaign calendar.   Once you identify which cultural moments your buyers might be interested in, the main things you’ll want to look at are:    Do you have adequate inventory in place ? Your products are the lifeblood of your eBay business, so ensuring you have enough stock to meet demand is a must.   Should you refresh your listing images? High-quality images are key to showing your listings in their best light.    Have you got a relevant, effective listing title? Include as much information as possible to make your item hyper-searchable and relevant to that big cultural moment — using 15 or more keywords (read more on this in section two).    Are your listing descriptions informative? A well written item description tells a buyer everything they need to know about your item. Keep it short, punchy and as accurate as possible (including any issues such as chips, tears etc). Once again, be sure to inter-weave the description with keywords.    Review your pricing: Listing your items at the right price will help them sell. Look around on eBay for similar products to get an idea of what other sellers are charging and help you settle on a competitive price.   Consider free shipping : This is a great way to stand out against the competition and make your listing more appealing to buyers. It can also simplify the selling experience for you as you won’t have to calculate shipping costs for every item you list.    Click here to read our series of short guides on how to create great listings on eBay and convert your products into sales.     Include cultural keywords in your listing titles and descriptions   Keywords are one of the most critical elements of your eBay listings to get right. If you’re looking to engage with shoppers who are inspired by what they see on screen, you should revamp the keywords you use in your listings titles and descriptions in advance to include cultural references.    The main thing you should think about is what terms and phrases will buyers use to search for the item? Will it be ‘Peaky Blinders flat cap’, ‘Harry Potter wand’ or ‘England football shirt’? Using relevant keywords will help buyers to easily identify your products and boost your chances of making a sale.   And if you’re looking for inspiration, why not check out how other sellers are already marketing similar products? Look closely at which listings look more appealing at first glance — this way, you can work out how to stand out from the crowd and engage with culture aficionados.   Use Promoted Listings to get cut-through   At eBay, we know that big cultural trends drive consumer spend, which is why we want to give you the tools you need to make the most of the opportunity and reach your full potential.   That’s where our family of Promoted Listings solutions come in. Our three campaign types can help you get cut through when demand spikes — making sure your eBay listings are noticed by the right buyers at the right time, increasing the likelihood of a sale.   Promoted Listings Standard is the solution you’re likely most familiar with. It’s a low-risk way to boost the visibility of listings — giving you access to 60+ placements across the eBay network on desktop, mobile and the eBay app.    Promoted Listings Advanced enables eligible sellers to bid to promote their listings in the coveted top slot of the search results page — giving your products greater visibility in a premium position.   Promoted Listings Express lets you boost visibility for your auction-style listings, with your listings appearing in sponsored ads on similar listings’ pages — helping you reach the right buyers at the right time   Check out the Seller Centre to find out more about our Promoted Listings tools.   With the year ahead full of iconic cultural moments you can use to engage with buyers and boost your bottom line, there’s not a moment to lose.

Gotta sell ‘em all! The evolution of the Pokémon Trading Card Game

From humble beginnings as a Gameboy game to its latest incarnation as cultural phenomenon Pokémon GO, Pokémon is one of the most recognisable global brands. It currently stands as the highest-grossing media franchise of all time, having generated over $100 billion in revenue since its inception*.   One of its most loved and long-standing instalments, however, is the Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCG). First launched in 1996, over 30 billion Pokémon cards have been printed and sold around the world since. But the last few years in particular have seen an unprecedented frenzy, with sellers realising the potential fortune that can be made from old cards kept in pristine condition.   To mark National Pokémon Day (27 February), we wanted to take a trip down memory lane to chart the evolution of the PTCG - and how eBay’s Collectable Card Games category has also evolved on this journey. Including a look at the trading cards you should keep an eye out for, and how a hobby turned into a fully fledged business for one savvy eBay seller.       A Blastoise from the past   From 90s kids trading cards in the playground, to nostalgic millennials capturing Pokémon on their smartphones, part of the reason behind Pokémon’s longevity has been its ability to evolve with its audience.    However, there’s no denying that its recent resurgence was also accelerated by the pandemic. Suddenly, many people had more time on their hands, which served as a catalyst for old hobbies being rediscovered - and spare rooms, lofts and garages being cleared out in abundance.   In the process, many Pokémon card binders were unearthed, searches on eBay surged, and side hustles were born. In 2020 alone, overall trading card sales climbed a record 142% on eBay - and P okémon led the pack averaging five card sales a minute. By Q1 of 2021, listings of Pokémon cards were up 1,046% on eBay .   As demand has continued to grow, so has the value of the rarest cards - as shown by some of the world's most expensive Pokémon card sales**:   Pikachu Illustrator, sold for $5.275 million in July 2021 1999 First Edition Shadowless Holographic Charizard, sold for $420,000 in March 2022 Blastoise Commissioned Presentation Galaxy Star Hologram, sold for $360,000 in January 2021   Fast-forward to today and the momentum is still going strong. Following the recent announcement that Ash and Pikachu would be departing the Pokémon television series after 25 years, monthly eBay searches for the iconic duo had risen by almost 200%***.    Similarly, eBay searches for Crown Zenith - the final set in the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s current Sword and Shield era - rocketed 11,000% following its reveal in November 2022***.       Seller Spotlight: Neo Cards & Collectables   Video: Neo Cards & Collectables   During the pandemic, Rich was one of many people to find himself with extra time on his hands after being furloughed. To fill the void—and make a bit of extra cash—he decided to start selling his childhood games consoles, video games and Pokémon cards on eBay.   He quickly realised that trading cards sold very well. So, with his early profits, he purchased more stock from a wholesale games company and continuously reinvested any earnings to keep expanding his inventory.    Listing by listing, Rich has scaled his business, Neo Card & Collectables , to where it is today. He also credits a lot of this success to engaging with the online Pokémon community, and building a reputation as a trusted business seller on eBay.   The story of Neo Cards & Collectables—and many other eBay businesses in the category—is testament to the ongoing evolution of this much cherished franchise. And as long as there’s Pokémon, there will always be a committed community of enthusiasts collecting, trading and flipping their cards on eBay.   So, why not start selling today?   * Statista ** Dicebreaker *** Dicebreaker

How to upload tracking if you were using UK Mail

We want to make you aware of the correct process for uploading tracking details for orders utilising DHL Parcel UK (UK Mail) tracking numbers.    As you may be aware, UK Mail was acquired by DPDHL in 2016 and rebranded to DHL Parcel UK. In 2023 DHL Parcel UK aligned with the DHL eCommerce Division and is now known as DHL eCommerce UK . As a result of this change, you can now select DHL eCommerce UK as the carrier name when using DHL Parcel UK (UK Mail) tracking numbers.   If you are adding tracking directly through the order you will need to make the appropriate changes to select DHL eCommerce UK as the checkout carrier. If you upload via an API or your account is supported via a third-party provider, the appropriate amendments will be needed as per the below:   If using the eBay API to fulfil orders, please be sure to use the Trading API's GeteBayDetails call to retrieve the latest shipping carrier enumeration values. When making the GeteBayDetails call, include the DetailName field in the request payload and set its value to ShippingCarrierDetails . Each valid shipping carrier enumeration value is returned in a ShippingCarrierDetails.ShippingCarrier field in the response payload.   Once the tracking is uploaded with DHL eCommerce UK as the carrier, your buyers will be able to review the tracking events along the item's journey.   Learn more about integration partners & on site steps here       Thank you for selling on eBay.   Your eBay Team

How to protect your business amid the cost of living crisis

The latest headlines make for sober reading as the cost of living crisis in the UK continues to worsen as rising costs and inflation hit all at once. Thanks to a new higher energy price cap, the average household could be set to spend an extra £620 a year on gas and electricity, and this just adds to the list of rising costs which includes tax hikes, soaring petrol prices, and higher interest rates on mortgages. All in all, British households will reportedly be on average £2,320 worse off this year, and we know it’s a really worrying time for millions of people.   This is also a worrying time for businesses, which are being heavily impacted by rising costs, and we know many eBay sellers will be looking for advice on how to make it through this difficult time. With this in mind, here are some tips on changes that you can make to keep your business thriving, as well as some eBay offerings that can help.    What can small businesses do to remain profitable in the face of the cost of living crisis?   Update your business plan to factor in cost rises - Although the current situation is concerning it’s crucial to not shy away from it, because putting your head in the sand and carrying on as usual will be detrimental to your business’ success. Invest time and effort looking at your current and changing costs so you can accurately work out your new profit margins, and update your business plan accordingly.   Encourage customers to increase their basket size - We understand it can be tricky to raise prices and keep customers happy at the same time. Price rises in line with rising costs of raw materials are entirely reasonable, but if this is something you are keen to avoid, consider how you can encourage customers to spend more instead, such as by incentivising them to increase their basket size by bundling multiple items together or suggesting add ons.    Purchase business essentials in bulk - It is really worthwhile to buy items that are essential to running your business in bulk, such as shipping supplies like boxes and tape. If you purchase these items in bulk from distributors you can get significant discounts, which will help you retain more money in your profit margins. Just ensure to factor the lump outgoing cost into your planning - for example if you plan to bulk-buy every six months, make sure you’re prepared for a large outgoing twice a year.       How can eBay help you?    Capital for eBay Business Sellers - We know that running a business is a constant juggling act of cash input and outgoings and that, as part of this, sometimes extra funds are required to support your businesses needs. As a result, we have partnered with You Lend for them to provide you with a business capital offering . This, upon eligibility, can give you a quick access to funds at short notice, which can help provide some extra support in the current landscape. The funding can help your business in lots of different ways - such as sourcing more stock, hiring new staff, or investing in tech or equipment that will help your business run more efficiently. And it’s proven to positively impact seller growth. Businesses that have received funding through YouLend as part of the eBay Business Sellers program on average experienced 26% higher sales in the following six months compared to their peers.   Multi-buy - When it comes to incentivising shoppers to increase their basket size, eBay’s Multi-buy function is a great tool to harness. With Multi-buy, you can offer buyers tiered discounts when they purchase numerous quantities of the same item. This can work particularly well for low to medium priced items that are bought frequently and/or in larger quantities, such as printer ink cartridges or socks.   Terapeak Product Research - At a time when margins are getting tighter, knowing the market and how to best get cut through to make a quick sale can make a huge difference to businesses. Free to all sellers, Terapeak Product Research allows you to glean crucial insights into recent eBay supply, demand and pricing data to help you determine not only what to sell, but when and at what price point – so you can optimise listings and improve sales velocity. Go to the Research tab in Seller Hub to start analysing the market, competition and trends today.   eBay Shops - An eBay Shop is a monthly subscription with eBay that gives you a range of benefits to help boost your business - such as reduced insertion fees, access to tools to manage your listings and business performance, and a personalised shopfront. You don’t have to have a Shop to sell as a business on eBay, but we really recommend it as a way to maximise your presence on the site, boost your marketing impact and help your business make a real splash.       We recognise this could be a difficult time for many sellers, and we're here to hel p. Please see the eBay academy page here for some further hints and tips on how to increase your sales.   If you have any tips or advice for sellers on how they can remain resilient and successful despite rising costs, comment below!

Dear Sellers,    We are happy to share with you that we updated the new “Packing Slip and Invoice” experience.  The new flow of “Print packing slip and more” has been improved based on the feedback that we received from sellers.     The new documents support all features that were supported on the old invoice documents. The features are already live and available to you.   In addition, sellers now have many options to customize these documents to drive buyer engagement. For example, a QR code linking to the eBay shop and the shop-logo can be included directly on the print document.    You can read more about the new documents here .   The old documents will be fully replaced soon. We want to thank all sellers who shared constructive feedback with eBay on this.   Kind Regards, eBay Community Team

7 tips for boosting your business as pre-loved purchasing continues to rise

The UK’s cost-of-living crisis is continuing to dominate the news headlines, as energy bills, fuel, and food prices climb at an alarming rate.   As we approach the biggest shopping moment of the year, consumers are having to do what they can to make ends meet, and increasing numbers are turning to second-hand shopping and upcycling this year in order to get more bang for their buck.    Research from eBay Ads supports this, with its findings that 30% of consumers are having to make more considered purchases in order to get better value for money, and a fifth (19%) report buying more second-hand items in order to save money.   But the surge in pre-loved purchasing isn’t being driven solely by cash-strapped shoppers, it’s also being prompted by a wider growth of the circular economy. For example, eBay Ads’ research found that almost a fifth (19%) of consumers report that shopping as sustainably as possible is really important to them. More than one in five (22%) also say they’re conscious of discarding and sending items to landfill when they could be repaired, recycled or resold - and 19% said that they try to avoid fast fashion brands or brands that they consider to be unethical.   Our partnership with Love Island to dress islanders in pre-loved items highlighted just how much second-hand shopping is entering the mainstream. In fact, latest figures show that eBay.co.uk has seen 700% more searches for ‘pre-loved’ fashion since the announcement of the partnership, and Google has reported 750% more searches for ‘eBay pre-loved clothes.’       Clearly this is a key movement to tap into - both for businesses to be doing their bit when it comes to looking after the planet, and in terms of driving their own commercial success.    So, what can small business sellers do to tap into the pre-loved movement?   Incorporate pre-loved items into your inventory as a focus - If you don’t already sell second-hand items as part of your business, now would be a great time to try it out! It doesn’t have to be the key part of your offering, but why not try adding some pre-loved items to your inventory and let your customers know about it, to see how they do?    Include terms such as ‘upcycled’, ‘refurbished’, ‘vintage’ and ‘pre-loved’ in your listings to make sure they get in front of shoppers as interest in second-hand shopping continues to rise. In January 2022 searches for ‘upcycled’ rose 40% on ebay.co.uk compared to the month before, as did searches for ‘pre-owned’ (38%) and ‘second hand’ (24%) - showing just how beneficial this could be for your business!       Be detailed in your item descriptions and honest about any defects or wear and tear - Of course when shoppers buy pre-loved they aren’t expecting box-fresh products, but it’s important to be honest about an item’s condition so customers feel satisfied with their purchase when it arrives. This limits the risk of unhappy customers or items being returned.   Take high quality photos that showcase your items clearly - To build on the above, make sure you include high quality photos of your pre-loved items in natural light that shows any defects. Again, this will mean that customers are informed when buying an item - and that you’re really showing off the products you have to offer!       Share your item’s story - People often buy pre-loved as they seek items with a quirky history that’s removed from mass-produced products anyone can buy. Any details you can add on your listing’s history - such as ‘Victorian era’ or ‘originally built for a school in the 1930s’ - will really help it stand out.   Keep your price point competitive - Of course ensuring the margins are sustainable for your business is key, but it’s equally as important to make sure your price point is competitive. As mentioned, a key reason people look to buy pre-loved is to save money, and your prices should reflect this.   Try to make your packaging as sustainable as possible when sending your orders - As a key driver of the rise in pre-loved purchasing is down to shoppers’ desire to be more eco-friendly, making your entire offering more green with recycled/recyclable packaging could be a nice way to drive further engagement with your business.       As buying second-hand is only rising on shoppers’ agendas, now would be a great time to try out some of the above and get involved in the movement. We understand that the cost-of-living criss may be causing a difficult time for some of our sellers, and we want to do everything we can to help.    For more tips and advice on how to protect your business during this time, please click here .    If you are a pre-loved item seller and have any advice for other people looking to tap into the market, please share in the comments below!

You can now add more photos to your listings!

Increase your chances of sales by adding up to 24 photos–at no extra cost–to your listings. Available now for desktop, mobile, and the eBay app. Learn more .   Here are some tips to ensure your pictures look their best for buyers:   Set your item against a plain white or neutral backdrop, or if you’re shooting a shiny or reflective item like a piece of jewellery, a black background may work better Use a tripod to keep the camera steady for clear, sharp photos. If you don’t have a tripod, place the camera on a flat surface and use the shutter timer to eliminate excess motion Avoid using a flash, which can cause shadows, reflections, hot spots and greyness Photos need to be at least 500 pixels on the longest side but we recommend you aim for 800-1600 pixels on the longest side. Our photo uploader can take images up to 7MB in size. Capture images of the top, bottom, and sides of your item with detailed close-ups. Also, include photos that clearly show any flaws, scratches, or other imperfections Don’t overlay text such as “Free postage” or seller logos. That kind of information should go in the title, subtitle, or item description.
