why is my account restricted
my account shows restricted but when prompted to view my messages to see why and what to do, there are no messages relating to this. my account seems to be up to date and doesn't appear to have any outstanding actions? it's infuriating on the support pages to keep being told to check messages when there aren't any.. any clues?

If you follow the instructions on the email we sent you, you can see how to appeal the restriction in question. It will then be reviewed, and then an outcome will be provided with you as soon as possible.

·1 month agoHaving same issue from yesterday, claiming i haven't paid for previous items blocked from bidding, ai useless in helping to resolve issue. It's an Ebay technical issue not on my side but stuck as can't get any positive response to issue

OPAug 13, 2026 at 8:27 PMOnce I had gone through the ai chat, and it hadn't resolved the issue, I was eventually asked if I wanted to speak to an agent, which I did and he was very helpful.. not sure if it will work for you, but maybe worth a try?

·1 month agoYou've returned to selling after a long break and sudden selling activity on a dormant account raises red flags to eBay as it may be a sign that the account is being hijacked.
eBay can restrict the account from use until you prove you are the genuine owner returning to sell, it's a good security measure for both your account and your buyers.
