Searching - date and time of listing no longer being displayed

I've updated my browser with the samre results.
Is this a new ebay fault or do I need to update something else ?
I use the date and time to keep an eye out for new items dso am missing this info.

·3 weeks ago · EditedFor regular searches, sorted as "Newly listed", this is what I'm having to do:
Open a spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc).
In cell A1 enter:
=now()
In cell A2 enter your last search date & time (eg: from browser history):
17/08/2026 13:00
In cell A3 enter:
=A1-A2
In cell A4 enter:
=hour(A3)
In cell A5 enter:
=int(A3)
That gives you hours and days since you last checked, in A4 and A5.
You still have to check all the items on the last day you searched, or remember where you got up to.
And remember your last search date, for when it switches to "Listed Aug 16".
All of which is very tiresome.
But seems to be the only way to do it, without working it out for every item in the search results...

·3 weeks ago · EditedI hope they don't make this RIDICULOUS idea permanent, currently i have one browser(firefox) up so i see the date and time items were listed while i'm logged in to my account on edge which just says newly listed 5 mins ago, 10 mins ago etc, making everything a PITA going back and forth between browers, Knowing the exact time and date is very important to me so pls ebay stop messing with things behind the scenes, making this platform near impossible to use rn. You know the saying "IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT"?

·3 weeks ago'Just listed' is totally pointless, I don't know when it was listed, I am now unable to review recent items as I don't know at what time and on what day I last looked.
Am I know expected to scroll through pages of items on the off chance I will figure out the last items I looked at.
How many items will I now miss, how many sellers will be negatively impacted by missed sales
This change is ridiculously irritating, aggravating, frustrating and I would think turn many to other platforms.
Not all changes are for the better

After following up with tech there is a testing phase going on with the date and time on newly listed items. Instead of a date and time they are testing displays showing "Just Listed" and "X hours ago" on listings so buyers can distinguish between items posted moments ago versus weeks ago. As its a testing phase it will alternate between the older view and this test view.
There is the option to give feedback on this through the question mark icon at the bottom of the page.

·3 weeks agoAny reason buyers need to distinguish between items posted moments ago versus weeks ago? if it's what they are looking for? a lot of sellers(myself included) are already having to refresh listings every two weeks before they get buried by the algorithm and this tinkering seems geared towards burying old listings even more.

The team testing this new display have advised it is to give visibility to fresh inventory and encourage buyers to act quickly. However it is a testing phase so I would encourage to send your thoughts by way of feedback through the question mark icon at the right hand side of the page.

·3 weeks agoSo, i was basically correct then and this will bury older listings even further, even if those older listings may be better quality/better price than the ones newly listed, so in a way may cheat buyers out of a better deal by pushing on them only newly listed items, when imo they should be shown best match/best price first not just ones listed in say the last 24 hours or so. Would be nice if they would add an option on peoples accounts so they can choose which date and time format they prefer, as for me and numerous others in this thread knowing exact time and date items are listed is very very useful. ·1 month agoI know the date & time, of when I last did a "Newly Listed" search.
It's not showing the date & time now, and is just showing "Listed 19h ago", or "Listed Aug 12".
(Or "1 day 19h ago").
So I can't just directly compare the date & time, and I have work out exactly when 19h was :-/
Or I have to look at all the items on Aug 12, which can be a lot.
Or I have to remember.
Very annoying.
Sometimes I'll make an offer on old items, that I wouldn't consider at the asking price.
Sometimes I look on WatchCount, which seems to be broken now.
Why would making it harder for people to find stuff, be an improvement...?
Or increase sales?

Date+time is a must for me.
The so many hours left on Watch List items is also a pain; again I would prefer data & time..
Do I need to clear cookies ?
There has been nothing posted on ebay annoucements about changes therefore I must assume that their software is broken until I'm told otherwise.

Not sure about cookies, I get "Listed Aug 12" etc on MS Edge & Opera.
However I noticed you can still get date and time on:
Ebay France, Spain, Italy & Germany
But then you miss UK only items...
And get prices in Euros.

·1 month agoI didn't see this and have just entered a similar post. Wondering if they're trying to make us relook at items, which they've done before by putting items on more than once. I'm like others, I use it for checking where I got to yesterday, and this change seems pointless and definitley annoying.

·1 month agoI am having the same problem, I use Firefox on a PC. I keep a record of what time I check my searches each day - eBay does not always email me each day about new items. One of my saved searches has 6 pages of 60 new items added each day so this new listed 1 day ago is not helpful for checking where I got to, it will be even more difficult if I go on holiday for 2 weeks.

·1 month agoI do the same as OP and I find this change detrimental. Doesn't work on chrome or firefox for me.
As an aside looked at the last item listed on one of my regular searches and it shows that it was listed on 5th March 2016! Anyone beat that?

·1 month agoi have the same issue i use it for newly listed the date and time allows me to know when i reach up to when i last looked through it now means i am looking at the same things again it puts me off using ebay it does not change what i want or am looking for so it has no prepose unless your hoping it makes people buy stuff they weren't looking for
