Paying for an Anchor Store with flawless seller metrics, but artificially capped by selling limits
Summary: book-service is experiencing issues with eBay's selling limits despite having an Anchor Shop subscription and flawless seller metrics. Despite paying for uncapped, high-volume operations, arbitrary selling allowances are preventing them from listing their stock. They express frustration with automated responses from Seller Support and seek advice on reaching a UK Merchant Specialist for a review. jonatjonatjonat shares that it often takes many years to have selling limits removed, regardless of shop subscription tiers.
Hi everyone,
Looking for insight from fellow high-volume sellers—or an eBay Community Manager who can flag this to the Merchant Operations team.
I run a dedicated media store (book-service) and recently upgraded to an Anchor Shop subscription specifically to support our large-scale catalogue expansion. We have thousands of SKUs ready to ingest and list, and we are paying the top-tier monthly shop fee to do exactly that.
Here is the issue: our account is running into strict, arbitrary selling allowances that completely freeze our ability to list our remaining stock.
What makes this completely illogical from a commercial standpoint is our account health:
Seller Dashboard: Running at exceptional standards (0% defect rate, clean tracking upload, top handling metrics).
Customer Service: Zero open cases, high positive feedback, and prompt dispatch on every order.
Investment: Paying hundreds of pounds a month for an Anchor Shop subscription intended for uncapped, high-volume operations.
Every time I reach out to Seller Support to request a manual review or ceiling increase, I am met with front-line scripted answers saying the "system evaluates limits automatically" or that we must wait for monthly automated reviews.
Why sell and promote an Anchor subscription designed for massive catalogues if backend algorithms block the seller from using the listing capacity they are paying for—especially when account performance is flawless?
Has anyone successfully bypassed the front-line scripted agents to reach an actual UK Merchant Specialist or Account Manager who can review limits based on inventory scale and proven track record? Any advice on getting an actual human review would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
book-service

·1 week agoThere aren’t that many high volume sellers active on the forum these days. From a low volume seller the one thing that stands out to me when you asked:
“Why sell and promote an Anchor subscription designed for massive catalogues if backend algorithms block the seller from using the listing capacity they are paying for—especially when account performance is flawless?”
…is that eBay are very conscious of VAT. If they allow a non VAT registered seller to have an enormous inventory this could get messy for them if many sales come in quickly. I suspect that may be at least a factor in the listing limit alongside the fact you are a relatively newly active seller.

·1 week agoUnfortunately there are and always have been listings limits imposed on sellers (both units and value)
It took the business I work for around 9-10 years to eventually get those limits removed. It is obviously based on the sales you make but I don’t believe buying a shop package speeds that up.
