·1 week agoI have had this issue twice, split over a couple of weeks. So it doesn't seem like Ebay IT know what it is or it would have been resolved the first time. I am happy to be corrected if it has been resolved. My last occurance of this error was on Friday 28th Aug 2026, my assumption was that the Ebay infrastructure was very busy and couldn't handle any further images being loaded. It would be interesting to know what the error was caused by. As this issue affected a large part of the Ebay sellers and their businesses and revenue and in turn Ebay's own revenue, I would have thought a more comprehensive response from Ebay. Hopefully it is fixed and we can get on with our selling.

·2 weeks agoI am unable to upload a scan (.jpg) in messages. Spinning wheel spins forever... I have tried logging out and in, refreshing the page, clearing cache and cookies, and a different browser.

Its a separate issue to the one resolved on this thread. The one you are reporting is that uploading images to messages is not working. It was logged with our tech team and they are working on resolving it. Once I have confirmation of the fix I will provide an update.

Hi All,
Thank you for your patience while tech worked on the fix. They have confirmed this issue as resolved. This is the reported issue from the 28th of August. Photo uploads should be back working as normal. Users may need to refresh the page or sign out and back in and try the upload again.

·1 week agoHello Kat - this is still an issue tonight as I am having the same issue and remains unresolved. I've just tried to list an item with 13 photos and 8 of the photo return a message stating Upload Failed. If I delete them and try again, some of the photos that wouldn't upload originally will upload, but once again many come back with the Message Upload Failed. I've signed out of my account, signed back, refreshed the page, opened up a new tab as you've suggested and nothing works to resolve the issue. If's definitely not an issue with my photos as constant trying shows some will upload after repeated fails. Clearly a problem that remains unresolved

·1 week agoHello Kat - thanks for responding to me about this issue. Having tried again tonight (24 hours later) the issue now appears to be resolved once again. Hopefully there will be no further issues as I experienced similar issues last week which also resolved themselves the following day

·2 weeks agoI too appear to be experiencing this issue for the later part of the day, glad that others are encountering the same, as I was beginning to think it was my environment (2 separate PC's and multiple browser versions used to troubleshoot!).
As a work around I am having to upload 1 image at a time, then when I encounter the issue, delete the failed image and wait about 30 seconds and try again, seems that by the maximum 4th attempt the image is saved.
Hopefully resolved soon, really slowing my listing exercise :-(

On your computer Go to Power , then shutdown, wait until the computer and screen have completely switched off whilst shaking your head and finger at the screen. Sigh , sigh again , stand up , put shoes on and go to the pub. Worked for me

·2 weeks agoBit of a bigger problem now. When eventually images do upload, user is seeing an error when trying to complete the listing - saying please upload an image - all previous images then disappear.
Please sort this out asap.

·2 weeks agoSome images upload OK, others not and it seems pretty random as to which have problems. I have tried doing each individually and sometimes it seemed to help. Cleared my cache and still have the same problem so I'm assuming its nothing to do with me or the picture quality as these are the same as I always use.

Environment: Edge browser; happening across accounts and browsers. Please escalate to engineering — looks like an upload-host CORS or edge routing issue.

·2 weeks agoYes, me too. Very frustrating and time consuming. It also raises the point that we are paying for a service that we are not being provided with and therefore cannot pursue our normal day-to-day business - without images, we cannot sell. I wonder if ebay will consider refunding some of the fees we pay? Me thinks not! But, joking aside, how long does this have to go on for before some sort of recompense should be considered for sellers

We all rely on regular listing for fresh sales, especialy over a weekend, when we enter the new seasonal phase for the selling and buying of goods. Not good enough E-Bay !

My reply at the time was from 2 weeks ago when it was resolved at the time. We are aware the issue is being experienced today and that has been reported. Tech are currently working on the fix. The soonest there is confirmation from them on it being resolved we will provide an update on the threads.

·2 weeks agoHopefully resolved as soon as possible. It's my only day off work this week, I thought I'd create some variation listings, and now I can't . I'm essentially going to be set back by one week which could hurt me financially. I'm paying for a business account and eBay quite happily takes a commission on each sale, yet can seem to resolve a recurring photo upload bug.

·1 month agoNot able to upload pictures all day. I see some people can now, but still a no for me. I see ebay is aware of the issue now? Well, that's good. Maybe some kind of notice board would be nice, so people don't spend ages trying to fix things beyond their control.

·1 month agoI'm in the UK - happening to me now too. I reported it. Please also report it so they start sorting it out. There is a ? on the bottom right of your ebay website page - click on it and report technical problems there.

·1 month agoagree and it is so difficult to get to speak to an agent live rather that an automated assistant, but I did eventually get to talk to customer service and the told me they are aware of the problem and have prioritised the issue but it may take to the end of the day or even tomorrow, great!, hopefully sooner than later

·1 month agoBREAKTHROUGH: This doesn't seem to effect the phone app.
I'm able to start a new listing on my phone, upload pictures on my phone, then save it as a draft and finish editing it on my computer.
It's a chore, but it's something.

·1 month agoYes. I've tried uploading scans of various items Postcards, photos, photo slides etc etc, all bar 1 failed. No reason given. Checked scans and all conform to size etc. Using Brave browser. Yet another Ebay glitch - probably rolling out EIS or something similar.

·1 month ago · EditedYep, same here this last hour (11:00hrs GMT, 9 August, 2026, UK). Last night, using FireFox, all my new images appeared as black blocks. Swapped to Chrome, and then images appeared fine. However, today, I can't upload any images to (an existing listing) - previously used and working images and fresh images all failed with 'Upload failed. Try again.' message. All fail, regardless of choice of browser.

·1 month agoI Managed to list about twenty items until about an hour ago. It does upload photos very slowly, (well part of them) and then the message "Upload Failed". I've done the usual, switch off and on again, but haven't tried the shoving it up bit yet though.
