Ebay Search bugged in Video Games?
Video Games search is bugged.
I have been searching the same thing for over 10 years and this week something changed and created a bug.
I go to 'video games' and search for both, or either, Playstation 1 and Playstation 2 games in a search. For some reason this week i get Playstation 3 games appear throughout the search. I do not select this and the Playstation 3 games that appear in the search only have Playstation 3 in their marker.
Is this a known bug?

Try something like this for just PS1 games:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/139973/i.html?_nkw=ps1&_from=R40&_sop=10
Or this for PS1 or PS2 games but not PS3 games:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/139973/i.html?_nkw=(ps1%2Cps2)+-ps3&_from=R40&_sop=10

OP2 weeks agoI said in the original post... if i search only one or both i get PS3 games appear in both searches.
Its never done this before in over 10 years of me doing the EXACT same search. Im not doing anything wrong my end basically.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedThose searches involve putting text into the search line. I do not do that. I leave the search line totally blank and use the Filters.

·2 weeks agoI just tried it and filtered for PS2. The top result was a PS5 game (sponsored, so ok let that one go) but not much further down was a PS3 game.
The sellers weren’t manipulating search and there were no errors in the listings so it is hard to justify why the search is filtering the results so poorly.

OP2 weeks agoIf u look through the entire search return u should have ALL of the games marked PS3 in there too.
Ive been doing this exact same search using the filters weekly (almost daily) for over 10 years and this search has never returned PS3 within the search return. Theres 100% a change Ebay side thats broken the search within the past week or so.

·2 weeks ago · EditedI did it again and I’m seeing consoles and PS4 as well now. I could probably live with it if I was searching as the majority of stuff is still PS2 but I can definitely see your point.
When I was buying media in this category I used to do broader searches so it wouldn’t bother me as much. I would want to see not specified filters and had searches for mis-spellings such as Nimtendo and errors like that…
The thing with the searches now is it seems to want to show you similar things using its pool of sales data that it thinks are worth bumping. Maybe this is being generous to find other reasons but I suppose with some platforms it could be showing games that are cross compatible between consoles as well.
