Couldn't log into ebay - finally did and have adverts on my ebay page !
Summary: banyera reported issues logging into eBay starting on September 10th or 11th, 2026. They were redirected to an 'account hub' page with a phone number and security code, but calling the number resulted in listening to a continuous guitar tune without connecting to a representative. After attempting various cleanup programs without success, they managed to access eBay by removing incidents of Google Chrome via Task Manager. However, they now face persistent unwanted adverts on their eBay page and are seeking advice from others who might have experienced similar issues.
From thurs /fri - 10th /11th sept 2026 I have had real problems logging into ebay !
At first I could not not get into ebay , and kept getting redirected to a tab that said "account hub" (see pic)
This page says - phone 020 8610 0157 and mention security code XXX (11 digit code) ??
Called number above - an AI US voice asked me to choose -
1 - allow them to record call
2 - deny permission for above
I tried this with all options from both landline / mobile and ended up with same result - I ended up
listening to a horrendous Gtr tune ad infinitum. - never a person to give code to !!!!
I ran so many clean up programs (inc AVG Tuneup / Malwarebytes/ Windows Security Scan etc ) but nothing seemed to work !!
I finally went to windows Task Manager and deleted every incidence of google chrome .... it let me into ebay !!
But I now have stupid adverts from all and sundry on My ebay page ??
Well back in ebay but cannot clear adverts ...
Anyone else know about / had this happen ???

The adverts are part of eBay's new live experience where it is showing sellers live streams. Clicking on My eBay> Summary can take you to your usual page details.
