Can't sign into EBay app since upgrading from iPhone SE 2nd Generation to iPhone 16e | Technical Issues

I had an iPhone SE 2nd generation running iOS26 and the Ebay app worked just fine (and has for the 5 years I have had the phone). It also works on my browser and on an iPad app. Since upgrading my iPhone to a 16e last week I can't sign into the app on my phone. Once I enter my user name and password (which always worked before) I just get the holding circle with a the blue segment moving round indicating it is trying. I wait and wait, nothing changes. I can still sign on in a browser and on my iPad. I've tried everything mentioned here by others having the same issue. Deleted the EBay app, powered off, restarted the phone, added the app, tried to sign in (in that order - more than once). Nothing works. This is a real pain as I mainly use my phone to photograph and list things, or make purchases. I have tried signing in using my email address and my user name (either used to work, now neither does on my phone). I know my password is right as it works in the browser and on the app. Is there a fix?
