Buyers using 'click & collect to a 'Royal Mail shop or Post Office' does NOT generate 'bring my label'.
Summary: scarlette.fantastique describes a problem with eBay's 'click & collect' feature when using Royal Mail as the carrier. When a buyer selects 'click & collect' to a 'Royal Mail shop' or Post Office, the Simple Delivery system fails to notify Royal Mail to bring the label or send a QR code to the seller. Due to this issue, scarlette.fantastique plans to disable 'click & collect', citing frustrations with eBay customer service and the lack of resolution. The hope is for eBay to recognize and fix this bug soon.
Update to my earlier question on this post: https://community.ebay.co.uk/forum/member-to-member-support-26/topic/simple-delivery-not-generating-bring-my-label-for-some-booked-collections-49483/
I have now have had to spend ages working this out for myself because neither ebay customer services on the phone or their AI bot were any help whatsoever.
There is a glitch with newly added 'click & collect' to a 'Royal Mail shop' or Post Office.
If the seller only has Royal Mail enabled as the carrier...
... and the customer buys something and selects 'click & collect' delivery a 'Royal Mail shop' (or Post Office)...
... then the seller generates the postage label and requests collection...
... then the Simple Delivery mechanism DOES NOT alert RM to bring the label with them, nor does it even send the seller a QR code to scan to print the label at a RM locker or Post Office.
So for now, I am going to have to disable "Click & Collect' completely in order to keep using Royal Mail with collections where they bring the label. Annoying because this will limit sales by excluding all 'click & collect' transactions.
Hopefully this is a bug that ebay recognises and is already working on...but judging by the lack of understanding from three people that I have already spoken to in Customer Services, I doubt it...

·3 weeks agoThis just happened to me as well, VERY annoying as the RM postie kept advising me to "rebook" the collection but when I did they still turned up with no label (and the tracking shows "parcel unavailable for collection" which obviously isn't true). I took the parcel to the post office today as they then advised me "someone in the post office should be able to print out the label" but the Post Office couldn't so I had to send it via the normal Tracked 48 at my own additional expense. Ebay need to sort this out so this service still generates a label or alternately remove the service from collections where no printer is required. :(
