When looking at my orders above where the item is in "orange box" it tells me that I have an amount of gifts ?? but with the amount of scams about these days I'm not very confident in opening these boxes because i don't trust this type of thing anymore because of what you read & hear about scams.

Likely you are seeing a third-party ad that has nothing to do with eBay beyond appearing on the site through an ad placement service such as Google. Similar ads I have seen offer a free gift, then want the recipient to pay a nominal "handling" charge. If the user provides a credit card number directly to the ad's sponsor, the user is then charged a very large fee for some sort of "subscription" service that may or may not be explained in the fine print.
