Well, you lot have been spared (for now)! I've just spent ages (around two hours - I kid thee not!) typing and tweaking a post on a subject that I think would interest some, only to get an error when trying to submit it. I cannot retrieve the text, either (I used the 'load' previous autosaved content feature, but it was an older post full of HTML or metadata). Usually, I can at least retrieve the majority of the text. Bah! Every time this happens (which is often) I kick myself and remind myself that I must copy the text before clicking on 'Post'. Then I blimmin' well forget - again! - and end up in the same pickle! I do feel like an idiot for repeatedly failing to learn from past occurrences! I take ages typing my longer posts, and I suspect that the 'Authentication mismatch' error (or whatever it's called) has something to do with that - eBay doesn't seem to like the text field being open for too long (maybe some kind of security feature?). Others may not have this problem (even when spending ages typing a post), and those who have already fallen foul of it will probably regard my advice as superfluous, but I'll offer it regardless: For long posts especially, it's a sensible precaution to copy your text before attempting to submit the post. If it goes through OK, no problem, if it doesn't, you can paste the text back. Do not rely on eBay's autosave feature! When (and if) I have the time and inclination, I'll try posting again, but there's no way I'll be able to remember everything I said!
