Simple delivery and combining postage - two questions

Until now I've never sold using Simple Delivery but eBay is now imposing this option for any auction item with a starting price over £20. I sell old football programmes from my personal collection (usual weight about 40 grams each) and have always offered combined postage at actual Royal Mail cost. I charge postage at the starting price - where the sale price is much higher I pay the difference myself for Tracked or even Special Delivery. (1) Going forward - does Simple Delivery allow combined postage? Or will my buyers be forced to pay multiple postage amounts when buying multiple programmes from me which could easily be sent in one A4 envelope? (2) If the starting price is £30 but it sells for £300 - does the buyer pay more for postage? Previously I would send Special Delivery rather than Tracked 48 but would not expect the buyer to pay the extra cost of this service Thanks!

Okay, are orders within that three hour period actually combined ?

Hi, I have finally had an instance where a buyer has placed two separate orders with me, within a couple of minutes. As instructed, I have patiently waited for the three hour purchase window to pass (and some), and yet the two orders have not actually been combined ? They are still showing as two different orders with two postage labels. (Yes it's simple delivery). Basically, has this feature actually worked for other people ? I will say, with one of the items I covered postage costs but with the other, the buyer was responsible for paying postage. Is this the reason why it has not combined the buyers orders ? or am I just clutching at straws, lol. Funnily, I only changed it yesterday to encourage a sale. Either way, I have the familiar problem of just combining the orders anyway, sending them out separately or asking the buyer to cancel and buy again as a custom listing. It's annoying, i'm only a very small seller and these are my actually my first sales in about 11 days. It used to be so much easier, you shouldn't be worried about someone buying more than one item from you. Again, simply, has the feature worked for other people ? Thanks

      Consequences of cancelling a sale

I am about to cancel a sale because eBay unexpectedly added Inpost as a delivery option for Simple Delivery, something I only discovered when my most recent buyer selected Inpost as their delivery option. So I am wondering - will I be penalised for this? eBay support said I didn’t need to cancel the sale, but their "helpful" suggestion was that I post the item and issue the customer with a PayPal invoice for the postage, which seemed like a lot of trouble to go to for the sake of a few pounds especially considering that I have not had a PayPal account for years.

      Evri parcels not being delivered

Anyone else having problems with the Evri courier service? I don’t sell many items on eBay but recently, several have not arrived and remain showing as “despatched”. The buyers have paid the protection fee so I hope will be refunded by eBay, but that’s not the point. It reflects badly on the eBay seller and it seems Evri are getting away with this.

Parcel weight limit for combined postage-charges-royal mail

Hello, a buyer has bought eight items form my listings, Simple postage has combined these and I need to click for one label. I tried to adjust the weight/size to reflect the combined postage parcel but I was only given the option of small parcel up to 2kg. The combined parcel is within the size limits but the weight is 14kg. I am worried that if I click 'print label' I will incur extra charges. It is via Royal Mail. Please can anyone offer advice? Thank you

Simple Delivery Refund Request After 14 Days Expired

I sold items in early August and offered free delivery to my buyer. EBay automatically set this as "simple delivery". After paying for the order, my buyer told me they had the wrong address on their account. Ebay's recommended solution would be to cancel the order, change the address and reorder - not good customer service from my point of view. So, I took the parcel, with the correct address to the post office and paid for tracked 48, The buyer received the items, I got proof of delivery, both parties were happy. I tried to enter the tracking code into the account but EBay didn't allow this as my code was a 2D standard, not 3D as required. As I hadn't used the label I expected an automatic refund from EBay anyway. You've guessed it, this didn't happen. So I eventually found a way through to the AI and just got sent round in circles - computer says "no". MS copilot led me through a solution to break this out to a human, but I couldn't find a way. So, I'm hoping someone on this forum can help me find a way to access a human agent. Regards

Mandatory Simple Delivery "Wait to ship" timer breaks bulk label tools for private sellers

As a private UK seller on mandatory Simple Delivery, single-item paid orders are frequently placed on a "Buyer has X hours left to shop" timer. The Problem: Simple Delivery does not allow merging separate payments or issuing partial postage refunds once an item is paid individually. Because separate transactions always generate separate labels, keeping single paid items on a shopping window timer serves no functional purpose. Impact on Workflow: Placing orders on "Wait to ship" actively locks and excludes them from the bulk label dispatch tool. Sellers are forced to generate prepaid labels individually outside their regular bulk workflow or wait for the timer to expire. Requested Fix / Question: Can eBay update the system logic so single-item checkouts under Simple Delivery bypass the hold timer entirely, or allow sellers to process "Wait to ship" orders within the bulk label tool?

Changing the size on a prepaid label

Have eBay removed this feature? It was the only thing that truly made the postage process simple, and yet on today's sales it's gone? I don't often have to change the size but sometimes an item is unexpectedly slightly overweight or oversized after it's been packed, and that's saved me on numerous occasions. This time I contacted ebay and all they suggested was to cancel the sale and ask the buyer to buy again with correct postage - I thought ebay these days was all about making the customer's experience stress-free? That's one way to lose a buyer and get negative feedback! If they are going to generate a label before an item has been packed, at least give us the option to amend it and save the sale! (On this occasion I had to be inventive with my packing, I managed it but it certainly was not simple)

Royal mail say they lost it but ebay have to claim?

Hi all. I sold an item. Funds received no oats. With simple delivery. It was collected by Royal Mail. But it didn't get there. Royal mail said to easily and it would probably get there but logged it. It still didn't get there so I dutifully refunded the buyer. Royal mail now accept that they lost the item and I should apparently claim from ebay so that ebay can claim from RM On my behalf, as it's ebay that have s contact with RM, not me. Is this correct? And how do I do that? I can't see anything on any help page regarding this. Only things that help the buyer. Help please.
