Hello Everyone, hope your all safe and well. I'm having a problem with a seller and this would be the 3rd time in my 23+ years with eBay and its looking like for the 3rd time eB has their eyes shut!!!! In a nutshell Ladies and gentlemen. I purchased a set of 8 hanging basket brackets or so i thought. That is what the Headline of the item said. However, there was a dropdown on the listing 1-8 ??? So does he have 8 sets of 8 or is that price for just 1 ?? a bit pricey at £21. So i asked. Massive mistake. How many in this auction please ? 8. Oh ok thats great and i purchased them, leaving the drop dow at 1. I then received a message, ( just the one yes ) ? ???????? What on earth, i just asked you how many were in the fixed price auction and you said its for 8. It is he replied. sSo do you have 8 sets of 8 ???? No just the 1 ... My head has gone bang now, i tried to explain how it works but he wasn;t having any of it, AT ALL. He was hell belt on being right. ANYWAY, i cancelled that order and then low and behold he started another auction with the headline as 1 hanging bascket bracket with a dropdown of 8 and obviously a lower price £3+. ended up paying more for all 8 but i wanted them urgently so i could get the garden ready for my beautiful wife. Next message from seller. Not cancelling either auction as he's been ripped of by eBay before and doesn't want to loose any of the funds in his ebay Paying account. ?? He is unsure as to wether he is going to post the 1 set of hanging basket brackets. He doesn't want to sell them to me!!! All this is written in black and white in eBay message for eBay to see .. Any way. the tracking numbers for BOTH auction are still active and the cancelation time of 3 days has past and i have now been told cancelation Denied, FOR BOTH AUCTIONS. Tracking shows no movement via EVRI or royal mail, Not collected. Next is my statement to eBay. This is one massive mess and just when i need eBay, once again they are NOT there for me. Your fantastic on the phone making promises for me but when it comes to actioning those promises , NOTHING. Tell me this. How can a seller like this and only has 8 hanging basket brackets, How can he keep 2 orders open and post 2 different sets ??????? its impossible. But he is allowed to HOLD 2 payments of mine at over £50. First it was Handt++ then b**-a*-*arcel now g*woo_**. THANKS eBay. When this is all over and i know i don't buy or sell a lot, after 23+ years, i/we will be removing out account. The seller has made a mockery of you and Treated me badly and so far is taking some of my money and without good cause holing it, right under your nose. It took me over 6 months to get my wife's money back from "han***" paying/buying on eBay.£130 they with held, and in the end it was RESOLVER which assisted me and retrieved Julie's money. After all that i took to every singe review platform to tell as many customers about a very well know paying platform/company. To this day ive helped over 1000 people. Not a huge amount but i like to think ive lost them something. I am so very tired and drained as an around the clock carer. And now dealing with people like this, well i think you get the idea. Please let me know what you think. Take care everyone.

Is it illegal to knowingly send fake items in the post ?

Hi all, I bought a USB drive on ebay, it was advertised as a 2TB drive, and on the box it came in. It kept failing to save correctly when too many files were put on it, I tried re formatting it but it was still the same. So I checked the drive with a free windows program called "ValiDrive", when it checked the drive it reported it only had a storage capacity of 102GB So its a chinese fake drive advertising a false capacity. I have asked to return it explaining it is fake and how I tested it, the seller has not responded yet, but the chances are the seller will send me a returns label to send it back to them. However I have been informed its illegal to knowingly send fake goods in the post (and I know it is fake). I spoke to ebay customer chat (text) and asked them if it was illegal to post fake items, but the person I spoke to kept quoting how to get ebay to step in if the seller does not respond to my return request. I asked the question to him again "Is it illegal to knowingly post a fake item ? ", but again he just quoted how to get ebay to step in if the seller does not respond. So I said "I guess you dont know then, thank you for your time", then he just closed the chat. (And he never sent me a transcript of our chat, so I guess they dont have to send transcripts of the chat if they are not shown in a good light) Anyway, forget about that, but my question still stands : "Is it illegal to knowingly post a fake item ? " does anybody know ? Thank you, Steve

Partial reason for return - denied

I bought some Ram for a PC project. The description in the title said PC2-6400 Ram. I ordered on that basis. The Ram arrived and would not work when fitted. I then checked the product number and found it was PC2-6400P Server memory. I requested a return but the seller closed the case - not accepting returns. I merely said ordered in error (not also saying the title description was incorrect and misled me to order without in depth checks of the specification of the memory). I cannot see why the seller would not accept a return... there is not way to get help from Ebay or to contact them to appeal on the basis of a description not totally correct. A 2nd return request is not available - can Ebay intervene? Anyone any advice on this?
