Simple Delivery inflexibility.
Summary: ellenbelle1 shares their experience of selling plants and facing issues with Simple Delivery for larger orders due to size and weight restrictions. They mention that an eBay agent initially suggested they pay postage upfront and claim refunds, which worked for several orders but not for two recent ones. Despite following guidance on dimensions and requests, they seek advice on how to make Simple Delivery more flexible.
I sell plants and do really well and have Simple Delivery as my postage option. I have had a number of large orders this year where the SD option for postage wouldn't work due to the size and weight of the plants. An ebay agent told me that I could pay upfront at the post office and claim back from them this postage. They did this for a number of orders but are refusing to refund me on 2 such orders. I specifically asked this agent if I could use this work around for other orders as they came in and was told yes. I keep being told to get my dimensions correct and to put my requests in in good time which I have. Any suggestions, where am I going wrong? How can I get SD to be flexible?

·1 month agoYour problem - where you are going wrong - is in your account type.
You may not like this, and may not agree with it - but this is part of ebays business seller policy
"An eBay seller must register as a business if, for example, they sell items they have bought to resell, they make items in order to sell them, or if they buy items for their business."
Plants simply fall into the realm of items being made in order to sell them.
The alternative is that you can set the postage as seller pays (free delivery), buy your own postage - then claim a refund for the unused Simple Delivery label - this would need to be done on every applicable order.
