is this leagal ?
I sold an item and through NO fault of mine or the buyer I had to cancel the sale. I had not received payment for the item but eBay took the funds from my account to refund the buyer.
How can this be legal ?. I cannot see this as anything other than THEFT

It's not theft, it's what you agreed to in the user agreement.
