      Customer Product Stolen from Door

Hi, I need your assistance regarding an "Item Not Received" case opened by one of my customers. The order was successfully delivered to the customer's address. According to the delivery confirmation, the parcel was left at the customer's door. Unfortunately, the customer did not collect the parcel, and it appears to have been stolen overnight. The customer has now opened an "Item Not Received" request on eBay, and I understand that eBay may take action by tomorrow. I have already uploaded the tracking number to the case. In addition, I have the full tracking details and the delivery photo showing the parcel at the customer's door. Could you please let me know if there is any way to challenge or decline the customer's request based on the delivery evidence? I would appreciate your advice on the best way to proceed.

      Second chance offers

Can you still send other bidders second chance offers if the winner of the auction doesn’t pay? I can’t seem to find the option now?

      Jewellery buyer issue

The piece of jewellery in question was brand new and never worn. Was revived by the buyer on Friday and had been worn since. They now say that the pearl from the ring has fallen out. I have a photograph and the ring is not at all damaged and to reinstate the pearl would be a very simple matter. What do I do, I feel I am being made to feel responsible.

I'm not selling like at the beginning

I started just a few months ago, at the beginning I used to post a lot, but I can't be doing that all the time as I work at the same time. Please can someone help me giving advice of what to do. I write all the specifics and tittles I use good titles etc... before it used to work then suddenly, no sells, just sometimes... I wanted to go full time but it looks like is too much competition and low prices. I try my best to accommodate, I sell clothes and underwear. Thank you in advance

Funds being held longer than 2 calendar days?

Anyone else experiencing this? Funds were meant to be released yesterday (17th) but haven’t. Phoned up multiple times. Promised manual releases that never happened. Been told there’s an ongoing site problem and that I’m a priority as my case was one of the first to be raised. Still no funds. This is been going on for over 24 hours now and still no update.

      Click and Collect

I just want to send items by post, yet on my listing it gives the buyer the opportunity to select 'Click and Collect' How can I remove this, or at least is there somewhere when I create a listing that I can remove this option? Many thanks BJ

The evolution of higher and higher and higher eBay fees

We have been on eBay for over 2 decades and almost 6 years as a business seller. As a business owner I appreciate the eBay business has plateaued so the only means to boost corporate profits is to squeeze more and more out of sellers and buyers, their customers. This evolution has been dramatic, we monitor costs of selling. Pretty basic stuff for a business to monitor margins and GP. We have seen over the last 6 years: eBay Seller costs that ranged from 11% to 14% and averaged 12.6% in 2020 now range from 17% to 22% and average 19.4%. There are several factors adding to this dramatic increase in costs: Introduction of the regulatory rip off 2% surcharge Doubling of the minimum 'advertising' rate to 2% Increasing of insertion fee from £0.22 to £0.48 per item Easing returns at the sellers expense We used to manage 32% margin on eBay sales but now eke out 21% meaning we only manage now to make as much as eBay. Every new charge or every increased charge get that double eBay charge of the line item plus the final sale price. Every time eBay raised their charges by 20p we, the seller, need to increase the sales price by 23p to pay eBay the full 23p; their 20p increase plus added sale commission on the charge cost hike We were selling £6k a week through eBay at one stage. Now we typically sell £500 a week and have £100 in eBay fees. So is eBay shooting itself in the foot. We have cut the product offering by 70% and continue to cull the offerings as items sell out. On other platforms the charges run at 3%. Our days with eBay are numbered, it has become too rich to accommodate our low cost items. At one point eBay was earning £750 a week on our account, now it is £100 a week. Is that a good sustainable business? Not with our continued involvement anyway.

Cancellation request after waiting 3 days

Hi wonderful eBay community. I've been waiting 3 days for payment from a buyer. I sent them a polite reminder 24 hours after the end of the auction. They would also have had a reminder from eBay. They didn't respond to my message, so I was patiently waiting for the four day window to end, where eBay will put an unpaid strike against their account and the item will be automatically relisted. The 'buyer' has now requested to cancel the order, with the reason the item wouldn't arrive in time - they waited 3 days to do this. What are my options? eBay is giving me 2 options, approve and relist, or decline. They've completely messed me around and clearly aren't a trusted buyer.
