Ebay has seen it fit to force a new AI camera option on by default and I can find NO way to disable it.
I never consented to it's use and I do not WANT to use it.
In the app, if you go to list something it will automatically attempt to open your camera and attempt to scan anything put in front of it.
This is a MASSIVE security and privacy issue on top of being slopification of the platform via """"AI"""" garbage which I do not wish to support or use.
If it is forced on me and other users, then I guess I'm out and honestly others should consider it strongly as well.
This forced feature is embarrassing.
Just be a platform to sell and buy stuff instead of working to collect as much data as possible and slop up your platform.

·2 weeks agoI'm not sure about Iphones but if you have an android phone you can go into settings..apps..ebay..permissions..it should come up with 3 options for the camera. Personally I just use the one that asks every time but you can turn it off completely.
