Delivery dates
I am rarely late dispatching an item bought from me. However , I had a situation recently where a buyer paid for his item but then messaged me to say he was going on holiday, and could I send it in a couple of weeks. I said yes no problem.
After three days eBay got straight on my case, reminding me to send the item. I now notice that I have been penalised percentage wise, for not dispatching the item. Why can’t eBay read the messages before putting me under unnecessary pressure.

·1 week ago · EditedBecause eBay, like most marketplaces does not have an exception to the rule option.
All sales are given a timeframe to despatch. No ifs, no buts. Having a case by case response with staff having to review messages would add expense and unnecessary cost.
In future the best option is to cancel the order and advise the customer to purchase when they are back. As a seller that offers you the most protection.
