Weird glitch with Simple Delivery postage prices?
I sold a vinyl record the other day and before being sold, standard tracked delivery was shown as £6.70 with express at £6.77 (I only send via Royal Mail)! Upon being sold, the buyer was charged £2.75. What the hell is going on?!?

OP1 month agoOK, I've sold another item that I put up last night with these same prices shown for a record (Small Parcel under 750g) and the UK buyer has been charged £6.70 for what would be Tracked 48! That's not too far off double what it would be going direct through the Royal Mail website.

·1 month ago£6.70 is the rate for an item costing £150-£375. For items over £75 you would need to be using Royal Mail Special Delivery (prices for which start at around £10) in order to get the same level of protection that Simple Delivery provides, so the Simplr Delivery prices are still competitive. Ebay has now also added a signature requirement for some items sent with Simple Delivery (no details yet but presumably will be added automatically to higher value items) so the recent price increase for items over £75 will be in part to cover that.

OP1 month agoOdd that it didn't apply to the sale for the US buyer going via GSP as that was for £350 - but thanks for clarifying this!

·1 month agoI am seeing my Simple Delivery Large Letter Items listed with £3.38 postage when you do a search but then, if you click on the item, it opens up and correctly shows it as £2.72 postage - which is fine except people searching will see £3.38 postage and just scroll past the item so they won't see that it is actually only £2.72.
All very strange!!! what is going on?

·3 weeks agoThis is happening to me too. I've had to cancel all my listings. I've tried relisting the items. I sell the same type of items, large letter, same weight. It was Ok but can't list any more.

·1 month agoDid the buyer select a Click & Collect address? The price for Royal Mail Click & Collect Small Parcel is listed as £2.62, although that would still leave a 13p discrepancy.

OP1 month agoNo, it's going to the GSP hub. The odd thing is that I don't have Click & Collect enabled, but every listing I have shows it as an option except on that one I sold.

·1 month agoWell that is odd then.
Click & Collect is mandatory with Simple Delivery. The setting in ypur Postage Preferences only relates to Custom Postage. Click & Collect with Custom Postage is managed by eBay whereas Click & Collect with Simple Delivery is managed by the carriers.
I believe Click & Collect with Simple Delivery is only available for items up to £100 (althougjh that is no longer mentioned on the Simple Delivery help page) which would explain the absence of Click & Collect on this particular item.
