Warning - eBay can flag any shaped character keyring from Anime etc. as a recalled product!
Summary: rare_treat shared their experience with having a keyring listing removed on eBay due to it being flagged as a recalled product. Despite their efforts to appeal the decision by clarifying that their keyring was a licensed DC product by Monogram International Inc., the appeal was rejected. They expressed frustration over eBay's process, pointing out the vague nature of the product safety report they were given and raised concerns about eBay's potential to indiscriminately flag similar products as dangerous.
I recently had a keyring removed because eBay have flagged it as a recalled product.

The link they gave was to "Product Safety Report: Anime Keyrings (2212-0056)" and it is very vague report!
Product Identifiers: None
Country of Origin: Unknown
Counterfeit: Unknown
Just with a Product Description of "Keyrings in various shapes depicting various characters including Harry Potter, Disney and Batman characters but mainly Anime themed."
I appealed, stating that those appear to be unbranded Chinese keyrings that are affected. What I have listed is an officially licensed DC product produced by Monogram International Inc. (As can be seen in the photo of the back of the keyring.
And there is no information in that product safety report that indicates this brand of keyring is the affected type.
But the appeal was rejected.
I have also done a search online myself for Monogram International Inc. and the only thing I could find was one from 2005 about some “Disney Princess Bracelet Keyrings”.
So this line of keyrings are not any of the affected kind.
If I were selling a keyring that was flagged as posing a danger I would happily remove the listing, and send the item to landfill myself. It is a £5 item after all.
But this is not the case.
So this means any shaped character keyring that falls in this big network of Harry Potter, Disney, Batman, or just Anime themed, can be flagged at any time by eBay as a danger!
What a mess!
