Variation option not working
Hi, is there a glitch in the variation listings? All my listings are set up and have been working well for a while now, but if I go into the listing to change the slightest thing, it won't save and says I need to remove and unassociated variations, which I did in one listing, but then it changed to a normal listing without variation.

OP2 weeks agoSmall update on my side, the tights category and bra category are now fixed. Bra sets and nightwear are still showing the error. So I guess it will be fixed soon.

Basically if you don't choose one of eBay's default sizes you can't list items or revise listings. It would seem that a large amount of clothing now cannot be sold through eBay.

Current listings cannot be revised and you cannot list anything on eBay with the 'Size' attribute unless the Size of the item is on eBay's list.

We have turned off and removed the option to input custom text sizes on variation listings.
Moving forward, the platform will no longer accept custom text inputs for sizing fields in these categories. Sellers must now select only from the pre-defined, standardized size options provided on the variation listing page.

Our primary goal is to protect your business health. By standardizing how sizes are displayed using UK Alpha sizes (e.g., 2XS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL), we aim to drastically reduce buyer confusion at checkout. Clear sizing expectations prevent "Significantly Not as Described" (SNAD) cases from being opened against your account, keeping your performance metrics strong and your returns low.
Recommended Workarounds & Solutions :
The policy officially went into enforcement on 10th June 2026. Since the pre-defined options strictly follow standard UK sizing, you can manage numerical or EU inventory using these methods:
For Numerical Sizes: Select the closest standard UK Alpha size for the primary listing. You can then mention the corresponding numerical values directly in your item description, or upload a breakdown chart into your image section.
For EU Sizing: You can list the item directly on our EU platform to match its native sizing, making it available to international and UK buyers alike. Alternatively, if you want to keep the listing exclusively on the UK site, you must use the standard UK size field and upload an EU-to-UK conversion chart as a product image or detail it in the description.

I would speak to customer support or open a ticket. After this update I contacted eBay again and was told that they are having loads of sellers contacting them. I was told it was having a major impact.
I explained that we are currently paralysed and can't list or revise anything and if it's not fixed then our only option would be to move items to other platforms in order to sell them.
The more reports that they get the more it gets fed back to managers.
The person I spoke to said it's all that they have been dealing with all week.

OP3 weeks agoI spoke to CS on Thursday. They advise they know there is a problem and was asked to send a screenshot of an example of the warning and a listing number which I have done. The problem I have is that most of my items are dual sizing, so S/M, L/XL - but CS say this shouldn't be a problem and it's most definitely allowed. It's frustrating though :(

This is regarding the issue you were facing with one of your item during listing 407185733445 with variations option.
I would like to share that custom size option has been disabled for the size aspect in the fashion apparel and sneakers.
This means, this is not an issue but a system update as system wants to keep the size aspect organized.
In case the issue is other than not being able to select correct size option for variations, you can share the below details with item number.
1. Complete screenshot of the exact error message/ Short video of the exact issue
2. Exact error you are facing.
3. Item number.
4. URL where the exact issue is occurring.
5. If the issue is happening on app, please provide eBay version and mobile version.
