U.S. buyer received damaged item how to get them a return label ? (originally not sent via GSP just via Royal Mail UK international bought from their website )

I received a message from a U.S. buyer (I'm a UK seller) and they're not happy because their item was received damaged in transit and it looks like they're going to initiate a return / demand a refund.
The thing is that I've never dealt with an international return before and I'm guessing that somehow I'm going to have to buy them a return address label to myself but how can I do that ? I don't have a USPS U.S. postal account and I doubt I can buy address labels over in the U.S. as I the seller am UK based. This item was NOT sold via the eBay Global Shipping Porgram (or similar ) so I don't think
Do I somehow send them the cash to buy an address label ? what if the U.S. buyer quotes a ridiculous price for the address label and I refused ?
This could be a scam whereby the buyer has purposely damaged the item so he keeps the item hoping that I waiver the return and give him a full refund. It's suspicious as looking at the packing photos you can see the item in the box fully surrounded by bubble wrap.
Any advice is much appreciated,

·3 weeks agoYou can ask them for a postage quote and send them the money through Paypal.
You will have to weigh up the pros and cons. Is it worth having back if it is damaged and the extra postage or can you agree on a partial refund.
I would ask them to send more photo's of the damage. Most courier claims will want to see photo's of the item and damage and the packaging used to see if it was sufficient to prevent any damage in transit.
