Two GSP items paid separately by same buyer with same GSP reference number
Summary: jjambadger27 shared a situation where a buyer overseas purchased two items separately, but both received the same GSP reference number. Although typically each order should have a unique reference, both items might have been combined for international shipping. Despite speaking to customer support without gaining clarity, jjambadger27 plans to ship them as advised. sml192 suggested sending them separately for proof of delivery, while papso22 recommended using both labels as they might be combined at the hub.
A buyer overseas bought two items from me separately (the second purchase one minute after the first one) - I would have combined them as one buy it now listing if they'd messaged beforehand but they didn't, and I expected each item to have a unique GSP reference. But having just generated the postage labels and not being able to see the hub reference number before this stage, I see that they have the same reference number - has this happened to other buyers before and is it still OK to go ahead and ship these as they are?

OP1 week agoI did get to speak to someone in Ireland - seems that one reference number is produced for both items owing to the buyer paying for both items at the checkout at the same time. Apparently not an issue at the hub but I've written the name of the artist on the packages (they're vinyl). Have sent the buyer a photo of the two packages as I get the feeling that they will be sent everything in one package which won't be as protective (have used thick card stiffeners either side of each record).

·1 week ago · EditedIf they were purchased separately then I would have expected them to have separate reference numbers but looks like the postsge for the international leg has somehow been combined. Is it definitely two separate orders? GSP does combine the postage for the international leg if items are purchased together but doesn't allow the UK postage to be combined (with the new eIS programme the postage for both parts will be combined where applicable).
As it is the same reference number for each you could, in theory, send them together but best to send them separately so that you get proof of delivery to the hub for each one.

OP1 week agoYep, 2 separate orders. Hoped to speak to eBay in Ireland but alas not - the person I spoke to couldn't shed any light on the matter and said just to post them as normal. I guess I am covered by Simple Delivery...
