Suspicious view figures
100 or so of my listings recently acquired views which are highly unlikely to be real or, at least, useful: similar numbers in very similar patterns over the same few days. This means I can't trust any of my view figures any more. Does anyone know the cause?

·3 weeks agoCould it be Bots checking out your item so it can be listed on search engines ? Just a thought.

OP3 weeks ago · EditedGood idea! That's what I have thought caused a few listings to be 'viewed' just once every few days for weeks on end. Of some use to the seller possibly, but confusing when they're not distinguished from real views!

·3 weeks agoWell less and less people are using ebay nowadays, if ebay was to find a way of removing the views the bots clock up you may see you have had hardly any views at all (if any), the views the bots clock up make it seem like ebay are still having lots of customers on their site. Again just a thought.

·3 weeks agoOn my selling ID I regularly get reports of up to a handful of views on my listings... despite not having any for over a year!

Why would you think views are unreal?

OP3 weeks agoAttached are a sample, none of which probably has had this many views ever (you can see that there had been none in the previous 30 days). There are dozens more such items. I've not included the image of the item, but you can see that they are different from the start dates. (I'm not sure what the end dates mean, as none of them has sold.)
