Special Delivery label with incomplete address. Something new?
Summary: 4404ekb experienced an issue with an eBay Special Delivery label that only included the locale and postcode without the buyer's full address, leading to delivery to a local post office. Casual seller. Always pay postage. Use eBay Special Delivery labels. PO tracked and drop off at local PO. This time noticed label did not have buyer's full address only the locale and postcode with "deliver to local PO". Very odd. No idea what to do so posted. It has been delivered to the PO but the postcode is not even the buyer's. She also says she has had an offer of £68 which is less that what she paid and very odd. What is going on? Re the label has eBay decided the cost for the PO to deliver to home addresses too high so now all go to local PO? Buyer and I are in communication and item is at PO not miles from her but that's not the point!

·Jul 20, 2026 at 2:29 PMI have just complained about this. I do not have a printer but in order to get the full address I press the pre paid label button. I didn't realise i then paid for it! I then posted my parcel at the PO. I am now £3 down.
Customer Services were very rude. I will no longer be using Ebay to sell.

You can fill in a form to get a refund on any unused simple delivery labels.

·Jul 20, 2026 at 3:10 PMAll your sold items - apart from the collection only one - show you selected "free delivery". Where Simple Delivery is concerned this means the seller pays for the postage/shipping label - i.e. it is free delivery for the buyer (not the seller). As @jonatjonatjonat pointed out you don't need a printer; you just need to present the associated QR code at the Post Office counter or drop-off point and they will print the label after it has been scanned.
You can use this form to request a refund of the unused Simple Delivery label.

·3 weeks agoThey forget not everyone is computer savvy! And I've been writing my own labels and using Royal mail for 15 years with no problems.

All Simple Delivery couriers have a click and collect option.

·Jul 20, 2026 at 8:25 AMAs you have now confirmed this was actually simple, not special, delivery, you are entitled to post to whatever address the buyer chose at checkout and ebay put on the label.
Neither ebay nor RM have decided not to deliver to home addresses.
