Simple Delivery?
One courier made a mess of delivering an item, it was lost, and Ebay closed the incident after refunding, so as seller I was out of pocket. The courier denied my claim for compensation because their customer was Ebay not me. Worth remembering if sending anything of value it is better for a seller to contract direct with the courier.

·5 days agoIf a seller (not me incidentally) sells item A to one buyer and item B to another (different) buyer, with both sales under Simple Delivery, presumably he receives two preprinted postal labels from eBay. Is there a clear identity on the labels to guide the seller so he shouldn't make a mistake and won't stick the labels on the item A and item B parcels the wrong way round?

·5 days agoNot beyond the name and address which would be shown when going through the order confirmation process no.
Best thing you can do is print then off then write on the back what hte item is.

·6 days agoUnless it was precious gem/metal ebay should have refunded the buyer when they opened a "not received" claim. You keep the payment. If so you should try to speak to someone at ebay. Type in "speak to agent" after clicking on help.
If you refunded the buyer upfront I'm afraid there's nothing you can do but worth bearing in mind if there's a next time.

·6 days agoThat's not how SD works.
Buyer opens a case for INR. If you sent it with SD, Ebay will refund the buyer and the seller gets to keep the money.
You don't need to contact the courier.
Somewhere along the way, these steps were not followed.

·6 days agoYou say you used Simple Delivery?
Then, yes, eBay refund the buyer, but you get to keep the payout. Keep checking the payment for the sale will be released to you.
Under Simple Delivery rules, there are some exceptions such as precious stones or metals, but most items are insured for up to £750.
