Item transaction was cancelled as the buyer refused to pay for the item without seeing it.
The buyer did not pay any of the agreed purchase cost and refused to do so, therefore the transaction was not completed.

The indicated e-bay status of 'item sold' prevented further marketing of the item, however associated selling costs for the transaction have been applied to my account?
I want to clear an account debit, without the fees applied for this specific transaction.
However, using the e-bay online methods I am unable to remove the seller fees applied to the transaction with AI returning my requests for help back to the auto system dialogue following each of my chat entry's.
I an unable to find a telephone contact number in order to resolve.
Can anyone advise please?

The proposed buyer stymied any further opportunity for sale by agreeing to buy.
The buyer's e-bay account was opened on the day of the purchase and so no e-bay account history was available for the buyers account. (The transaction was cancelled days later following repeated communications & continued refusal to transfer funds).

Unlikely that payment for a Vehicle could be completed through eBay checkout --- instead try Classified Ads at £19.99 for 30 days. --- Set an acceptable Selling price and avoid accepting Offers which will pause the listing and the deal may never be completed ---
Just continue to Negotiate an acceptable selling price and only remove the Ad. when you have a definite buyer with Cash in hand or a Bank Transfer is safely deposited/confirmed before handing over Vehicle keys/documents on buyer viewing /collection. No additional FVF selling fee is charged. --- Do not accept PayPal payment. --- stay safe!

If so, you have to cancel the order as unpaid to get your final value fees back, have you done that yet? You can't get your listing fee back though, that's non-refundable.
The cheapest and best format to sell a vehicle on is an eBay Classified Ad. This also cuts out the time wasters and non-payers.
A Classified Ad costs £19.99 and there are no final value fees if you sell your item.
Your listing runs for 30 days, during which you can arrange for potential buyers to view your item, you can then end it once paid. You can accept offers too (you don't accept the offer until the buyer has been to view first).

If you decide instead to list in auction format or fixed price Buy It Now it will cost £14.99 for your listing, and that fee is payable even if your item doesn't sell or you end up with a non-payer, and if you sell your item, there are final value fees of 1% of the final transaction (min. £25, max. £45)

·3 weeks ago · EditedThe platform is largely automated, so there's usually no need to contact anyone at eBay. If a sale falls through and final value fees are charged then it needs to be cancelled as unpaid or 'buyer changed mind' (if that's the case) in order to get that fee credited back. Sounds like you've done that correctly.

Probably inadvisably I've paid the fees applied, as e-bay was indicating negative feedback possibility on my account.
However as we have access to records of transactions I'll continue to try and secure credits to my e-bay account.

·3 weeks agoAs mentioned earlier, you'll still be charged the £14.99 listing fee, that's unavoidable, but cancelling the order will get you a fee credit for the final value fee you've been charged (£25).

Thank you for taking time to post.
Sale was cancelled due to purchaser not transferring the sale cost.
Therefore the item could not be relisted resulting in selling costs not being able to be recovered.
The item listing was ended whilst the impasse was not reconciled.
Is this standard e-bay policy designed to prevent relisting?
