Royal Mail price increases 5/10/26
Summary: jeffremington shares an announcement about Royal Mail's postage price increases effective from October 2026, highlighting the impact on eBay sellers using tracked services. They note that rising fuel costs exacerbate the situation, making postage prices sometimes higher than item values. nuttytartsarah87 expresses frustration, indicating that high postage costs may force them to stop selling. jermci0 criticizes the declining service quality of Royal Mail and plans to switch to other couriers when possible.
Oh joy but to be expected given fuel costs. 'Not taxing working people' only by indirect taxation. From ebay announcements;
'Royal Mail has announced that it’s updating its consumer postage prices, effective from 5 October 2026.
If you use the eBay labels platform, please expect to see pricing updated as follows:

Royal Mail 1st Class Small Parcel 0-1kg is now £5.70, compared with Royal Mail Tracked 24 Online Non-Signed For Small Parcel 0-1kg at £4.80.
Royal Mail 2nd Class Small Parcel 0-1kg is now £4.40, compared with Royal Mail Tracked 48 Online Non-Signed For Small Parcel 0-1kg at £3.75.

OP3 weeks agoI should add unless someone actually tries posting something themselves they would think sellers or ebay are ripping them off with postage sometimes more than item value. With a litre of fuel £1.70+ and think of a drinks bottle, all deliveries are going to soar.
