Reminder please of Simple Delivery anomaly with buyers making offers
Hi, I seem to remember a situation when Simple Delivery became mandatory - from memory, if a buyer makes an offer, eBay interprets the amount as including Simple Delivery charges i.e. an offer of £200 means £196.72 for the seller for example. Am I recollecting this right and is it still in effect? I have an item up inviting offers.

·3 days agoit is annoying that counter offers get show including the bpf while normally prices shown on the seller's end are without it . it would be more cleared to just continue to show sellers what they will get without the bpf just not to be caught out

·5 days agoI think you are getting confused between Simple Delivery and the Buyer Protection Fee. When a buyer makes an offer it is the total amount they wish to pay excluding postage so it includes the BPF. The postage (Simply Delivery) will always be on top unless you are offering 'Free postage'.

OP5 days agoAh, got it! So I guess that amount can be countered with a counter offer.

·5 days agoYou counter offer without BPF and eBay add it to the amount shown to the buyer.
I think it is easier just to set a lowest price you will accept on the listing with counter offers turned off and then you can avoid the back and forth. Also means if you get an offer you know it is within the range you set so you can just accept it.
