Promoted Listing Fees

I have sold several items lately and randomly 4 of the items sold over 24 or 48 hours after the payment was made and item dispatched have randomly had The sold via promoted listing tag and eBay have taken fees.
The 4 items that it has been attached to were 100% not promoted when sold or offers accepted - eBay initially said it was a glitch and it would be fixed in a few days but it has happened again today and the customer service team just keep telling me they don't refund fees.
I have asked for a manager to call me but nobody is responding - has anyone else had this issue??
Seems to have been a glitch when I activated the promoted listing offer for £10 free to promote items.
******* UPDATE EBAY CONFIRMED THERE WAS A GLITCH AND REFUNDED THE FEES IN FULL IT ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE SO IF ANYONE ELSE HAS SUFFERED THIS ISSUES I SUSPECT YOUD BE GETTING REFUNDS TOO *******

·3 weeks agoMaybe it's a glitch, maybe it's how promotions are meant to work. It's hard to tell what's working as intended and what's not these days.
Perhaps it was also a glitch that stopped you opening an ebay business account for all those adaptors?

OP3 weeks agoYeas I have a storage unit full of apple products I have collected over the years cables plugs adaptors cases for several phones that have not been repairable or have come with one or more adaptors or cables. Magical how people are triggered but the smallest things isn't it. I have over 500 iPhones iPads iPods MacBooks etc in my collection. if you'd like to buy anything give me a shout pumpkin - ill throw you in an extra adaptor for free.

OP3 weeks agoYeah none of the items were promoted at the time of sale - I had some items that were promoted but not the ones that sold.

A Promoted Listings Standard fee is charged based on the ad rate selected by the seller.
Ad rate is the percentage of an item’s total sale amount (including item price, postage and any other applicable fees) that you’re willing to spend when a buyer clicks on one of your Standard ads and then purchases any of your Promoted Listings Standard items within 30 days of the click. The ad fee will be calculated based on whether the item is a Direct sale or a Halo item sale.
For a Direct sale, the ad fee will be charged when a buyer purchases the item from a Standard ad that they clicked on within 30 days, even if the item is no longer participating in Standard ads at the time of the sale. The ad fee will be based on the ad rate in effect at the time of the click.
For a Halo item sale, the ad fee will be charged when a buyer purchases a promoted item other than the Standard ad item they clicked on within 30 days, as long as the purchased item is in an active Standard campaign at the time of sale. The ad fee will be based on the ad rate for the item sold at the time of sale.
The Promoted Listings Standard fee is additional to other eBay listing and selling fees. Your local VAT rate may also be added to your ad fee. All fees appear in your Payments tab or on your monthly eBay invoice.
Please note that we usually recognise the buyer when they are logged in across devices. However, in some cases, buyers may not be logged in when they click on your ad. In those cases, we utilise internal models and signals across accounts and devices to link clicks to purchases of your promoted items.

OP3 weeks agoI am aware of how prompted listing fees work mate - Ebay have confirmed it is a glitch with the promoted listing fees and refunded all fees.
