Problem re collection in person rather than simp delivery. Any advice?

Hello, I recently sold an item. The buyer messaged and as she lived not far from me, asked if she could come and pick the item up. I said yes. She paid. What I didn't realise was that I didn't have the postage or collect option ticked...just simple delivery. She collected today and then we realised that the collect option wasn't possible. I now have a situation where the item is awaiting postage and I can't ,ark it as dispatched. Is there anything I or she can do to rectify the problem? There are several messages from us both re collection and her collecting it today and that she is happy with the item and was pleased to meet me etc. Could ebay do anything to sort the problem. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

In future, you might want to ship the item. This is because if you didn't list the item for collection, or the buyer didn't select collection (in case you did add the collection option to your listing), but you still hand over the item in person, you will be left exposed against item not received cases, and since the a shipping label wasn't used, you won't be able to prove the item was delivered, and might end up losing the case, which means the payment would be reversed to the buyer. Also, this may cause your funds to be held for 14 days. Hopefully, the buyer will not do any of this, but I just wanted to make you aware.
So going forward, I would recommend to either list the item with the collection option included, and ask buyer for the QR code when collecting the item to confirm the item was handed over to the buyer and get the funds released straight away and be protected against any potential cases, or ship the item if the transaction was placed with a shipping method.

·1 month agoYou can mark dispatched by clicking on Get prepaid label > Print label for the item. The label will remain unused and assuming the buyer paid for it they will be refunded automatically in 30 days.
There is nothing else you can do so the payment will act as if for an untracked item and may be held for 14 days.
