Paid - Wait To Post (eBay's new selling idea)
Most sellers will have seen the 'Paid - wait to post' notice pop up when an item has been sold. The idea is that buyers have more time to shop so that postage can be combined. However there is no mechanism on eBay that allows sellers to group items together so that combined postage can be offered. Very frustrating indeed - eBay does not get any easier to use for sellers!

·6 days agoYou can still go ahead and print the label if you wish though so you don't miss the post.

·1 week agoWhat a load of Rubbish it is, I havn't got time to mess about , They buy I print label I post. What an absolutely crap Idea by ebay I have to wait three hours to post an item, I have sold around 1500 items on ebay and never once had to combine postage as i mainly sell high end trainers. Ben an ebay member since 2001 seen some ideas come and some ideas go, but this is seriously up there with the worst. Stupid idea, should be an option for the seller to initiate on listings not ebay assuming. daft

·1 week agoYou don't have to wait 3 hours, its optional.

·1 week ago · EditedOut of interest, if the seller has a cut off time for dispatch or the purchase is made near the end of the working day, does ebay adjust its EDD to take account of the delay ?

·1 week agoWhilst Business sellers can set their own postage prices and methods, Private sellers must use eBay's Simple Delivery. As you've mentioned, the new wait to post allows combined shipping for multiple purchases (great for auction style listings) and buyers have always been able to add Buy It Now items to their basket for combined postage.

OP1 week agoThanks for the reply. Yes I realise that private sellers have always been able to combine postage but eBay are now saying that you need to group items together for this to happen - but there is no mechanism on eBay for this to happen any more. A lady bought 2 LP's off me the other day but I couldn't combine the postage for her. I bought a label for one of the albums but I would have had to buy a separate label for the other. I sent the 2 LP's in one package and I had to send her a postage refund. I couldn't even mark the other LP as 'dispatched' as eBay have now withdrawn this option. I am now getting reminders that 'dispatch is overdue' - even though she has received both records! Maybe I'm just getting old and can't keep up!

·1 week agoI agree that adding items to the basket doesn't automatically combine postage for many private sellers, I've just tried it by adding 2 of your LPs to my basket and am being charged two lots of postage at checkout..
Here are the things to check:
Go to Seller Hub → Account Settings → Postage Preferences.
See if Allow combined payments and postage (or similar wording) is enabled. If your account has this option, turn it on.
Make sure all your LP listings use the same postage service (for example, Royal Mail Tracked 48 or Evri) and compatible postage options. eBay won't combine items with incompatible shipping methods.
If you're using Simple Delivery and your buyers are paying for the postage label you shouldn't issue a refund for that cost yourself. The buyer bought the label so if it's not used they'll get the refund for it within 30 days.

·1 week agoInterestingly, just tried adding 2 of their LPs (both with Simple Delivery) to my basket and the postage combined no problem (this is using either the mobile website or the app). No idea why we are getting different results.

·1 week agoThat is interesting. So, I did it via a MacBook.
Just tried it on 2 different LP s and I'm still getting the same result, two lots of postage being charged at the last checkout screen.
