Nightmare as an occasional seller
I’ve sold two brand new and sealed in box iPhones in the last few weeks to 2 different people both of them have opened up a case that it doesn’t work I’ve never had this in all the years of selling
One of them has been a week and still hasn’t sent the phone back the other has very little information and doesn’t reply to messages I’m at my wits end

·1 month agoLooks like they left positive feedback, on of the listings was in Czech language, bit risky using pics showing the imei number, have you tried an imei tracker to see if they shook hands with a cellular system?

·1 month agoOK unfortunately as you've found - ebay do need you to provide a return label at your cost for the customer to return and then you grant a refund.
Have you provided a label in both cases? If the seller doesn't send the phone back then there isn't a lot you can actually do.

OP1 month agoI’ve provided the return label for both but still waiting on the phones one has been 7 days and the other was last night but the chances of two phones not working are non existent

·1 month agoI'd agree - there is a chance they are doing a swaparoo with an old phone.
However, you need to wait for something to be returned. Like I say, if the buyer doesn't return anything, nothing to worry about.
Have a read of hte guidance on this page

·1 month agoProbably box up a house brick and send it back, as long as it shows as returned ebay wont help.
