I have received a neutral feedback for an item bought and paid for on 15th July,it was received on 18th July when the neutral was left.
I was under the impression that to leave a neutral or negative for a seller you had to wait 7 days before leaving it.The neutral I received seems to have been left only a short while after they got the item.
Not worried about the feedback itself (first in 20 years!) but the timeframe in which it was given.
I have replied to the feedback and am OK to leave it as it is not really damaging and I think anyone seeing it (and my response) would not be worried about it.
What would you do? Can I report the timing to anyone?

I've bought several coins on ebay recently. When it came to leaving FB, which I generally do within hours of receiving the item, some had the Neutral / Negative buttons greyed out. They had "Top Rated Seller" by the "Shop with confidence" heading.
The others, where I could leave all types of FB, did not. So I would think this courtesy is reserved for those with Top Rated Seller status. I think they also had a green banner saying if I wanted to leave a Neutral or Negative I would have to wait 7 days. Can't be 100% sure as I can't see the FB page now.

When can I leave feedback?
You can leave feedback for up to 60 days from the date you received your item or from the estimated delivery date, whichever comes first. If no estimated delivery date is provided, you have up to 90 days from when you completed your purchase to leave feedback for the seller.
You must have had your account for at least 5 days to be able to leave feedback.

·3 weeks agoHave just googled that statement and it looks like this delay applies to Top Rated Sellers.
So if your purchase was from a top rated seller- you have to wait 7 days.

OP3 weeks agoI am just a private seller so I can now see the 7 days does not apply to me.
Think it would be useful for any neutral or negative to have a time constraint as it gives people time to calm down (if necessary) and work things out with a seller if possible.
Will just take this one on the chin!!

·3 weeks agoAny timing restraints will be a system controlled thing and a buyer will not be able to bypass them. So the likely answer is that there is no rule that says no neutral feedback can be left for any seller until 7 days have passed. If you can find such a rule in ebay's guidance, then go ahead and report it.

OP3 weeks agoI have looked and cannot find anything specific in eBays feedback policy but when I try to leave a neutral or negative I am told I have to wait 7 days and cannot use the buttons for this.
Just wondering if it is because I am a private seller and only business sellers get this courtesy?

·3 weeks agoIt may be only top rated business sellers. In the old days I know it only applied to Powersellers.
