Multiple non delivered items via Royal Mail
Probably been debated before, but the incidence if non delivered items is increasing. Due to the lack of post office counters in my area, I often use the new post boxes with the parcels chute, and the RM app. Mond you, non delivery was increasing before this.
I see no obvious way for the seller to claim via Royal Mail rather than the buyer.
Anyone have any thoughts or comments on either increasing non delivery frequency or claims route/claims success?

·Sep 9, 2026 at 11:33 AMI have been selling low value post cards on ebay for over ten years now and never had a claim for non-delivery until the last two weeks when I have had two customers requesting a refund for non-delivery within seven days.
I always post them in the box twenty yards from my gate as the nearest post office is three miles away. I offer free postage and post them second class and always within 24 hours of the order. Free First class postage is completely prohibitive on a card selling for £2-3, as is "Simple Delivery".
Now that the Royal Mail only delivers second class three days a week (if that), I am beginning to wonder whether there is any point selling on ebay as people are not willing to wait for a second class delivery, even if it is free to them.

·1 month agoNot sure I understand what you mean there? It is always the sender/deemed sender that needs to claim from Royal Mail, not the buyer. If you purchased the postage on eBay or direct ftom Royal Mail/thr Post Office then you can do that on the Royal Mail website. If you purchased the postage through a postage broker then you would would need to claim through them.
