Hello, UK seller here and I've recently been running into a few issues and I was hoping someone else has experienced these and could offer some insight. Quick note that I always use Royal Mail to post all my parcels, I don't use the eBay label.
Issue 1) For a few weeks/months now when I look at the buyer address part of the address is cut off, usually the house number and street. The only way I can bypass this is messaging the buyer to ask for their full address or by downloading a label to see the full address. However by downloading the label it automatically marks the parcel as dispatched and generates a tracking number which won't be attached to the parcel.
Issue 2) It no longer allows me to manually add tracking numbers as a seller when I post something. Again for the past few weeks/months an error message comes up each time saying something went wrong and to try again later. I always send the buyer a photo of the receipt with tracking number anyway but I like to enter a tracking number so to get a notification that it arrived at their home but can no longer do so.
Issue 3) Most recently since I know I can longer add the tracking number I decided to just mark the parcel as dispatched instead but it gave me a screen of string text instead and wouldn't change the status no matter how many times I tried. Only way I could mark it as dispatched was to download a label so it auto-marked it as dispatched.
I feel like I'm being forced to send parcels out via eBay as I haven't changed anything on my account in the few years I've been selling to warrant these errors.
Has anyone else experienced this?

·3 weeks agoI do not wish to use the eBay label either as I do not have the technology required to download and print labels. I just want the address and I'll take care of posting at the post office. It got to the point where EBay wouldn't provide the address of the winning bidder until I instructed eBay to issue a refund and then they provided it. I have now removed every item I have for sale on eBay where my feedback score is 1,044 and 100% positive. I now sell on commission at a town emporium and get zero problems. All eBay sellers are required to fit the same mould but I don't. I'm 69 years old, my phone isn't connected to the internet, I have never ever scanned a QR code in my life, have never made a payment using my phone and I don't own a printer. I just want to sell and post the goods to a supplied address at the post office by handing over cash for the requisite stamps. If eBay don't want that kind of seller, that's fine, I have left eBay as a seller.

·2 weeks agoIt's going extremely well. I make silver jewellery and the lady that runs the Emporium is totally trustworthy. She has allowed me a rent free space in one of her cabinets and just takes an agreed commission on sales.
I simply work out what I need to charge on an item, add her commission % and leave it to her to sell at the calculated price. I have given her permission to apply a trade discount to her regular and trade customers, but she hasn't once claimed to have given such a discount from dozens of sales.
I called in to see her yesterday and she handed me a broken silver ring and said one of her regulars that bought some of my stuff 'gifted' it to me so I can melt it and make something from it. She could have kept that herself and I wouldn't have known. I am going to repair the ring and return it to the customer free of charge via the shop owner.
She also gave me a small zipper bag with broken sterling silver brooches in including a beautiful Victorian brooch with an A E I monogram (Amity, Eternity, Infinity). I will remove all the remains of the broken pin and add a silver bale making it into a lovely pendant and return it to the donor. The business relationship between the Emporium owner and the creator/seller is a refreshing change to the toxic relationship I had with eBay.

OP3 weeks agoNothing personal against it, I just have no way to print the label. I also live directly across from the post office so with Royal Mail I can have any parcels packed up and sent within about 10-20 minutes of being bought.

·2 weeks agoDo you have the capability to show the QR code that ebay normally also provide at the Post Office. You don't need to print the label - you can get the Post Office to print it for you.

·3 weeks agoHi @thedemonhunter2010 You don't say whether you are using a desktop or phone / tablet on the app. Sounds like the App which i don't use too much as i can never find out how to do the stuff i can do on a desktop.
If desktop however, you can find the full address on the invoice. you can add tracking numbers (If I put two orders in one parcel, I buy the label for one and cut and paste the tracking number into the the tracking for the other item with no issue) I just tried mark as dispatched and that works fine also. If you are using a desktop I guess you need to do the delete cookies thing.
I find using the the main site on a tablet ok, but the phone app should come with a mental health warning.

OP3 weeks agoApologies, I use my laptop for eBay. I barely use the phone app unless I'm checking notifications I receive when not on the laptop. I didn't realise I could check the invoice for the address and I haven't tried deleting cookies yet either. I will try both next time I sell something. Thanks for the tips!

·3 weeks ago@thedemonhunter2010 You should be able to do all the things you are asking about then. I always switch to using the 'opera' browser if a website gets glitchy for me. It is very light on memory so it easy to keep as a second browser option and generally it works when Edge doesn't. Also, try asking AI about glitches and resolving them, especially if you have error codes you can supply, it's pretty good.
