Moving to Spain
Hello.
I currently have a ongoing UK dropshipping business just selling in the UK using UK suppliers.
If i move to Spain and become a resident can i change my existing account to my Spanish address and continue with my trading?
Regards Paul.

·3 weeks agoIf you move to Spain and dropship using UK suppliers then your buyers in the UK would pay an additional 20% import VAT because you'd be registered outside the UK, and your buyers outside the UK would pay the equivalent import taxes for their country because their items would be coming from the UK.

·3 weeks agoCould get very complicated --- Even if an item is within the UK , if either the Buyer and/or Seller is using or has had an account that has/was initially registered outside the UK site , then an additional 20% Import VAT (or various applicable Country rate Import VAT) and any additional Customs /delivery fee is charged ---

·3 weeks agoThere is currently no VAT included in your prices because you are a UK resident who is not registered for VAT.
When you move to Spain and become a resident there Spain is where you will be domiciled for tax purposes. As far as your business is concerned you - as the business owner - will become a non-established taxable person (NETP). As an NETP with UK-held stock you will be required to obtain a VAT number which eBay will be obliged to ask for before allowing you to sell any further. eBay would then charge VAT on all your sales to non-VAT registered UK buyers and you would reclaim any import VAT incurred on items you imported into the UK.
You cannot change your country of registration so you will need to create a new account once you have moved to Spain with the correct details. You will not be able to just keep this account and carry on selling as once eBay realises they should have been charging VAT on your UK sales they will permanently restrict your account from selling as another recent poster in a similar situation discovered. That restriction will almost certainly extend to any existing accounts you have and to any future ones you create.
HMRC holds eBay jointly and severally liable for the VAT obligations of its sellers so VAT is one thing eBay takes extremely seriously.

·3 weeks agoNo --- it is not now possible to transfer account registration or account details between sites . You will need to open a new EU account in Spain.
