Misuse of returns
Anyone else had false claims to obtain refund? I’ve had 2 in the past month! Both false but have given refund and let them keep item but the second one I thought no I’ll have it returned at my cost because I was so annoyed, it probably didn’t fit so claimed falsely that it had stain and had odour (it was new with tag!) I’ve read that this is a tactic buyers are using to keep items for free, there is no protection for sellers in this matter, rant over!

·1 month agoAt the end of the day this isnt just Ebay its across the board and heavily used on amazon who now just offer "free returns" and I have to suck it up. I always ask for the item back or if they have sent images that its genuinely broken I refund. I think many want the refund AND keep the item - Im not sure what protection seller could be given as the law states that buyers are entitled to free returns if an item is damaged so they would just damage the item for the free return

·1 month agoIt does happen, and yep annoying as it can be obvious when a buyer is ' pulling a fast one!'
However, eBay do monitor a buyer's return rates, too many, and buying sanctions can be applied to a buyer's account.

·1 month agoIt is annoying but it can be made worse by having "No returns" on your listings. If you accept "change of mind" returns some of the buyers would use that and have to pay their own return postage.
